Portions were like most take-out Chinese, plenty. On the plus side, the hot and sour soup was very good. It actually had a little spice to it and good flavor. The Szechuan chicken had some spice, but seemed to be almost tasteless otherwise. Egg rolls were ok. I doubt I'd go here again if I lived in the area.
Moved to Gainesville a little over a year ago and I tried numerous Chinese places that all were mediocre to simply bad. Finally, Chan's delivered. Flavors were good, sweet dishes had a nice subtle sweetness and spicy dishes had enough spice without overpowering the flavor of the dish itself, actually enhancing it. Portion size was very good. This was the best eggroll Ive ever tasted, along with the springrolls. I urge anyone who is a lover of eggrolls to come here and try them.
The rice and chicken was good, but the star was the eggrolls for sure.
