Got the large brisket plate for 18.99. Portion of meat was not terrible, but was over 1/2 fat and served in a lake of vegetable oil.. Texas toast was tasty but tiny(and had some black griddle sludge on it). Cole slaw was boring, but fine. It's supposed to come with 2 sides, but only received 1. Service was friendly and attentive. Kitchen moved like pro's. Used to eat at both locations often,years back. Had a friend that worked for them and they liked the owner. Might have just been a perfect storm of bad. 20 something bucks with tip, to still be hungry? Not again, anytime soon. Or don't order the brisket, if you go. It is the trickiest.

Being that it was my first time eating from David's BBQ, the food was great!! The only thing was that the rib pieces were really huge. When I eat ribs I like smaller pieces that I can chew. Other than that the experience was amazing and the young lady at counter was amazing as well. Her smile would make anyone's day. Definitely will be going back.
Kudos to the staff for curating a dining experience that goes beyond expectations. The modern yet welcoming setting, paired with their friendly and efficient service, turns every visit into a memorable occasion.

I go here almost every morning for breakfast past few months, the cashier will have my order ready for pay by time I get inside the restaurant. Food is always good the cooks that work this morning are great and help when it’s busy and will take over others job if they need help. Great crew ! Great food ! Perfect way to start my work day.
Very disappointed in food. Got 2 take out lunches, both brisket and it was very dry and flavorless. The BBQ beans were like pork and beans from the can, just souped up. Staff was very friendly.

I cannot recommend David’s BBQ and Catering enough! If you’re looking for a great company to cater your next event, you don’t have to look any further. Their customer service, pricing, quality and taste of food items and drinks, bartending service & complimentary decor service are unmatched in the North Central Florida area. Bobby, Alicia and their amazing team impressed us from our initial tasting, various meetings/workshop, day of service & correspondence afterwards. My husband and I had nearly 300 attendees at our wedding and this staff was more than ready to take great care of us. They accommodated all of our changes and we’re flexible throughout the year and a half we worked together. I will continue to sing their praises to everyone I know and look forward to frequenting their restaurants anytime I’m in Gainesville.Vegetarian options: Made vegetarian and pescatarian friendly dishes for the handful of guests with dietary needs.Dietary restrictions: Made sure buffet had low sodium options.

This place is a joke if you try to eat there on a Saturday. The signs on their door say they are open the hours listed on Google say they are open. But god forbid they get a catering order they just say screw everyone else and turn you around at the door. This is 2 weeks in a row! CHANGE YOUR HOURS DAVIDS BBQ Some of us try to stop in here on our way to work only for you to decide if you are open the morning of not everyone has time to then go find food somewhere else before they have to be at work. Very poor business strategy.
