Di Big Jerk is considered the best Jamaican restaurant in Gainesville, serving authentic Jamaican food. The jerk chicken is repeatedly called the best, and other excellent dishes include fantastic jerk tofu tacos, a very good jerk tofu rice bowl, brown stewed chicken, curry, brown stew oxtails, and curried goat. Sides like coconut bread, spice beef patties, mac and cheese, and jerk fries are also noted. The food is described as superb, well seasoned, flavored, and great, with good portions. The people working there are really nice, cheerful, and laughing. However, the price is consistently mentioned as high or expensive, with lunch for two costing about fifty dollars. The takeout containers and plastic forks are noted as not great.
