Dragonfly is my go-to sushi place in Gainesville. Anytime someone visits, I take them here. This restaurant gets really packed, especially during football games / parent's weekends, so it's important to make a reservation if you know you are visiting ahead of time. The happy hour is a must, as rolls are $7-8 and appetizers are priced well below average price. The krispy krunch roll is the best roll on the menu in my opinion, especially if you like fried rolls, but the bomb roll is excellent too if you enjoy cream cheese sushi. Don't forget to try their steamed edamame, as it is packed with flavor and seasoned to a T. The vibe is like a laid back yet upscale sushi restaurant. It is a great choice for a nice weekday meal or a celebratory dinner.

While in Gainesville we looked on Yelp for a restaurant close to where we were staying at Sweetwater inn. This restaurant came up and since we love sushi we looked at reviews and headed that way. It was a nice 10 minute walk to the restaurant and we sat in the outside bar. The Supa green drink was fabulous but the real star where the rolls !! We ordered big boss, volcano , black Dragon , and o-renji and they were outstanding. Flavorful, beautiful presentation, generous and Fresh !!!! My husband wanted to go back for lunch but we must move on. Highly recommend this place. Forgot to take pics of rolls but posting picture of restaurant.

10 out of 10 Highly Recommend. We showed later than expected, so we did not get seated inside, but that was the best decision ever for us. We were blessed with having Steven as our waiter. My fiancé and I are both bartenders, so understanding a menu is a must for us. Steven not only knew the perfect recommendations based off some brief questions, but had a full understanding of every cocktail. Making just the beginning portion of our experience beautiful. My fiancé hasn't always been a fan of sushi, but with a little convincing, and a description of the rolls Steven suggested, we turned that completely around. The presentation of the sushi was done beautifully. The short rib ramen was packed with flavor, and the in house made chili sauce added just the kick you needed for any of the dishes.Thank you Steven for making such a memorable dinner for us, we will back, and Dragonfly, hats off to yah, definitely the MVP's in Gainesville for sushi.

One of my fav places in GNV for sushi lovers. The outdoor space availability is technically increased but is mostly unavailable when it rains. I liked the old long outdoor table seeting on the one side. Having a courtain to prevent rain impact on those days would be a plus. Adding some variety to the manu as well.

Not a bad resturant for late night but it is not an authentic asian one.

Unique sushi options, amazing ramen (pork is a tender and well flavored) , cocktails have superb flavor profile. The bartneder Rokhaya really knows her craft! Highly recommend asking for her recommendations.

Highly recommended by various coworkers so I decided to try it. Very satisfied with great sushi selection and service. Not too thrilled about the drinks so I just do non-alcoholic here.

Terrible customer service and over rated food. Lacking in quality. If you know good sushi you don't go to this place. Or really any place in Gainesville. Absolute garbage!

This place is amazing. I love all the different options available and I have a lot of favorites. I'm a big fan of the Pork Ramen and the Pork Belly Steamed Buns. The prices are steep and service is a bit slow at times, but the food seriously makes up for it. It's really, really good. A must try if you're in the Gainesville area and looking for Japanese cuisine.

I am not a sushi fan, but my kids wanted to try it. I feel it was overhyped. I think you can get more affordable sushi at Publix.

Happy Hour is the only time worth coming here. Service has improved since the last time we were here. Menu has changed so it was nice to try something new. Nice ambiance for dates or special occasions.
