Had the special crab cake Benedict and it was delicious. Crab cake was house-made. Seasoned potatoes were excellent. Server (apologies for not remembering her name) was very friendly.

East End will have you until the sun sets in the west if it were open late. This âAlice in Wonderlandâ place is quaint and charming, but the food is north of very good.

Stopped in on a Thursday morning around 10â11am with my mom, and honestly⊠what a gem. It wasnât too busy, which made the whole vibe even better .. it was calm, cozy, and a little artsy inside with such a unique charm that makes you want to linger.
We both ordered waffles for breakfast, and I went for the blueberry ones with eggs and potatoes on the side. Everything was spot on. The potatoes were perfect, soft on the inside, crispy on the outside, seasoned so well they were borderline addictive. And the eggs? Fluffy, light, and cooked the way eggs should be. Iâm so used to getting overcooked eggs at other places, so having them done right felt like a treat.
The waffles were the star though. Crunchy exterior, soft warm center, and real blueberries in every bite. Absolutely delicious.
Service was just as impressive. Our server was kind, attentive, and made the whole experience even better without ever hovering.
Overall, East End Eatery easily earned this five-star rating. I had this on my must visit list of places in Gainesville and it did not disappoint. A must-visit breakfast spot in Gainesville,Iâll definitely be back.

CUTE BREAKFAST PLACE!
I was looking for lunch nearby and found this cute place! The inside was very well decorated and the prices are cheap! I got a rosemary chicken salad wrap which comes with a side of pasta which was pretty good for $11. I also got a little brownie for 65 cents! The wrap wasnât exactly amazing but it was good enough. They only accept cash, Venmo, and Zelle. I would probably come back and try one of their waffles.

It sucks that this place isn't open on the weekends cause it would be perfect for a weekend brunch! Their blueberry waffles are my favorite, and the side of potatoes are super well seasoned. Updated from previous review on 2025-10-14
Found this place as we were traveling with our dog. Eating outside on the patio was awesome. Great service and food was delicious. I could have eaten more as we were famished after traveling, but would definitely go back if we are in the area again. The tempeh was absolutely amazing, but I forgot to take a picture until I had already dug in.

Went for Sunday brunch. We both had the huevos rancheros. They were very good and I would recommend it to anyone. Be aware that the business does not take credit cards.

Hidden spot in Gainesville. Breakfast was very good and offered variety of options. Service from Diane was exceptional- just the right balance of attention and non- invasiveness. Area is a little rundown, but it also adds charm and surprise element. Decor is one of a kind if you like more intellectual yet easy going style.

Great little gem of a place! The food was so good. I got the blueberry waffle, scrambled eggs and smoked Gouda grits, the grits were so good and creamy. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the waffle was so good! Everyone in there is so nice, I absolutely loved it!
