Delicious hot, crispy, juicy Cuban sandwich. They have original Materva, which is delicious. They call out your name in Spanish ? staff is nice. Place could use a little sprucing up ?
I rarely leave negative reviews because I know sometimes a place just has an off day, but this was honestly the worst Cuban food I’ve had in my life. We came up from Miami to visit family in the region and wanted to get a quick bite in Gainesville. Hardly anyone was in Gainesville being the day after Christmas so we weren’t surprised to find we were the only customers. We ordered the media noche and the gator cuban, as well as the guava and cheese pastry and the meat pastry. We would have ordered coffee, but despite them having been open for an hour and it being on the menu, the guy told us “we don’t do coffee”, so we got plastic water cups. When we got our food, the employee set the dishes down in front of us and walked off, not letting us know which was which. If the place had been busy I would have understood, but it was dead in there and they couldn’t take a second to inform us without us having to call him back to ask?The sandwiches themselves were too heavy on the Mayo and mustard to the point it felt like I was just eating Mayo straight out of a jar. The beef was too dry, the ham was basically lunch meat. The best part about our meal was that at least the parking was free since it was the day after christmas

Edit: Flacos has significantly improved their wait time issue. No more super long waits!Flacos has awesome food but the wait is always awful, any day, any time. I went in the middle of the day, no one else there, it took like 20 minutes to make my food. Tonight, Tuesday night, I ordered ahead, and have waited an extra 30 minutes past the pickup time. Flacos I love you but you guys just move so slowly

This is my favorite Cuban sandwich restaurant. However the last time I was there I ordered two sandwiches, got charged for two and only got one. I have left over 3 messages on the answering machine wanted a refund for the missing sandwich and it's been over two months now. Maybe this will get their attention?? I love this place and their food but that kind of customer service is a major turn off.
