Everything thing about this restaurant is amazing!
Outstanding food every time the owner and staff are the absolute best!! Our go to place every time we come to Gainesville
From the moment you enter, the staff are so welcoming and the atmosphere/ambiance is very pleasant. I’ve gone here multiple times with different people and I’ve never visited a restaurant that can accommodate such specific requests catering to various dietary restrictions and individual preferences. For a meatier or heavier dish, I recommend the Flaming Pig Special, kalbi, kanpoongki, or the spicy tofu soup. For a lighter but still filling meal, I’d go with the teok mandoo soup or japchae! Never had a bad experience at Garlic & Ginger!

I've been going to this place for YEARS! It's slightly pricier compared to some Asian places, but it's all worth it in my opinion. Very good quality food, I have several favorites that I always come back to. Service is always fantastic, even across different waiters and waitresses during my time in Gainesville. They are all just so humble, I feel like the owner does a great job of choosing and/or training people. I have NEVER had a bad time at this restaurant!!

Came here for dinner on the 16th with my family when the place was full. The service a bit slower than all the times we’ve visited in past, but we were told that their main chef & server were in Korea for the month of August & they were generally understaffed. Because of this, their boss to had to step up as cook & only 3/5 servers were available to deal with the Friday night rush.
Despite the less than ideal circumstances, the servers still checked in frequently to make sure our food was to our liking and that our drinks/side dishes full while also cleaning tables, packing orders, etc. Also, the food was still great with our favorites being the Kalbi (tender & sweet marinade short rib bbq), Kanpoongki (spicy Korean fried chicken) & Dolsot Bibimbap (sizzling stone bowl with assorted vegetables and crispy rice)!
We’ve been coming here for years and we appreciate how they’ve been able to accommodate special requests with our allergies/dietary restrictions. Will always recommend Garlic & Ginger!
Vegetarian options: Teok Mandoo Soup, Dolsot Bibimbap, Tofu Japchae, Stir-fried rice
Dietary restrictions: Peanut & fish allergy. Low sodium and vegetarian.

We visited here a few months ago, service was great and the food was spectacular. We took our family there on 8/16 it was busy, we were seated outside the main dining area. It was a enclosed patio, the server was very slow. A young lady which I believe served us before came outside to check , she was very kind. The young man that was actually serving us brought out 4 small dishes of condiments/ appetizer. Then took about 5,6 minutes to bring small plates. My wife and daughter walked to Publix, by the time they came back our food still wasn't there. If you're super busy come and let the customer know, don't just leave us outside on the patio . It had been 40 minutes since we placed our order so we decided to leave, we instructed the male server he said " Okay ,sorry" this was a awful experience , considering we was telling our daughter how great the food was and planning since last week to go. The picture was our first time visit "Awesome " this last time disappointing ? ❤️????

So I took my family of 4 one 5 yr old in 8/ 16/2024 at 6:50 pm… it was full but it was an empty table ,a booth that needed cleaning and a table connected to a party table but set up for 6 people ( empty) . We are black they ask us if we wanted to sit on outside where the fans where turned off and they had a dog bowl in the floor. We did get water after 10 minutes.. we order 30 minutes never got food. Although we got a small plate of sauce, cold bean sprouts, a little kimichi and cold slaw … we had leave because as people kept coming in . I notice no one was eating in the help quarters with us . They happen to find placement for them in main dining room. I was treating and I was not going to pay $100 + tip for that type of treatment.. I would not recommend this place . And the college kids aren’t even in town yet… I was treated like a second class citizen in America . And this is the first time . I’m 47. Child of God and from Nj ..

I haven't had the chance to dine in but I have done a few take outs from them and each time I throw a little request curveball and they never say "it doesn't come like that." they actually cook all their food fresh and you know it when they can accomodate anything. Great place. Food 5/5.

No negative review, the air conditioner may not have been working efficiently. Was uncomfortable dining due to temperature of dining room. Service and food is excellent. Hidden gem

They were kind, funny, and engaging with everyone, even the young kids. All the food was wonderful and delicious and they even brought out a little dessert with a lit candle for me when they found out it was my birthday. We went at an off time hoping to avoid a large crowd and it was a very peaceful atmosphere lots of seating and a lovely outdoor seating area as well. Definitely recommend!

We've been coming here for years. Love it! Flavorful food, exceptional customer service, large size portions, decently priced. My kid asked the owner: why does your Kalbi taste so good? What's not to love?!
Dietary restrictions: Was able to accommodate a no/low sodium diet doing something custom.

Oh my goodness. It’s the best Korean restaurant I’ve ever eaten. Whenever I come to Gainesville, I have to come here, it’s just so fulfilling and delicious! My best friend recommended this place and I’m forever grateful. The price is also affordable and the portions are to die for!
