Gator Bodega is a very good place to eat in the Gainesville area near the university. The food is phenomenal, fresh, well-seasoned, and definitely worth a stop. A big go-to is the famous chop cheese sandwich, which is a chopsteak sandwich mixed with cheese cooked on a flat top and served on a hoagie bun; it is on point. The smash burger is also excellent, with perfectly seasoned patties that have crispy, delicious edges, served on a soft bun. Other popular items include the patty melt and the Cajun ranch fries, which are crispy, golden-crisp, and dusted with just the right kick of spices. The combo meals, which come with a large order of fries, offer generous portions at fairly good prices. The customer service is great, with a friendly, family-like atmosphere as soon as you walk in. It is considered the best food in Gainesville and a must for a late-night burger, making it a highly recommended spot that customers will definitely return to.
