Great food, ridiculous rules. When dining in, yum yum sauce is available upon request. When ordering a large to go order, two small containers were placed in the bag. When I asked for a few extra, they said they would have to charge me. Not sure what the difference of dining in or taking out is regarding charging. Especially for such a large to go order- two seems very cheap/stingy. Felt like I was at McDonald’s negotiating a ranch cup.

The hibachi meal for 2 is a steal and very filling! Try the guava margarita as well! You won’t be disappointed.

Admittedly not a sushi expert but this is hands down our favorite sushi place in Gainesville. Been at least 5 times now and have never had a bad experience or even one bad roll. We switch our order up every time and we still can’t find our “usual” because everything is so good.
Atmosphere is top notch; very modern and clean, has never been too loud or too packed. They have some TVs so you can watch a game but they don’t dominate the space at all.

We used to be regulars, but service and quality have gone down a lot over the last couple months. By far the worst experience we had was back in October when the manager threw water over her head and sprayed one member of our party. We had been sitting outside for dinner and one member of our party received very grey-looking tuna. He asked the waiter about it, who then proceeded to bring out another waiter who pressured him to try it in front of everyone present. Then, as we were starting to leave, the manager came over, glanced at our group, and emptied our water cups by tossing the water into the bushes directly next to one of the other people in our group. Just odd, rude behavior that’s not worth any patronage.

Being new to the area I've been struggling to find some world class comfortabilities and cuzines. The American take on lots of international food doesn't always seem to translate. While at Demode nails the team (Chloe) recommend I tried Hana Sushi. I'm so glad I did and so greatful to Chloe I was welcomed in by a confident Tiffiny who boldly stated they have the best sushi in Gainesville followed up by supurb service from Addy.
I received many smiles and acknowledgments from the wonderful kitchen and the atmosphere with the Amazing playlist topped it off even before the brilliant and blisfull food hit my table.
I've now got a new top 5 place for eating out in Gainesville.
I strongly recommend a visit.
Not to mention there is also wine from NZ on their list.
Staff and Managment Bravo. 😎🙌

The only complaint that I can give is they have a strict rule that requires all people in the party have to there to get seated. Main reason I don’t come often. Overall, good food and service every time.

Wow! The food here is always amazing but tonight it tasted so fresh! It was just so delicious. We ordered the Hawaiian roll and the Banzai roll. Omg it was soooo good! The Katsu chicken was great too. The takoyaki was sooo fresh and soft inside. The fried ice cream was amazing. This is my go-to restaurant. Portions are generous and taste is always delicious!

This past weekend, while vacationing with a group of eight friends, we chose to dine at Hana Sushi & Asian Cuisine. Although the restaurant was busy, the staff initially did a good job accommodating our large party, and our waitress herself was attentive and pleasant throughout the evening.
Unfortunately, the experience took an unexpected turn before we even placed our order. While we were still reviewing the menu, a waitress accidentally dropped a container of spicy mayo on the floor, which splattered all over my husband’s light-colored pants and shoes. We completely understand that accidents happen, and our server apologized immediately and brought towels and water—her response was appropriate and appreciated.
What left us disappointed was the way management handled the situation. Instead of acknowledging the inconvenience or offering a meaningful solution, several staff members came over only to reassure us that “the sauce doesn’t stain, it washes right off.” This felt dismissive, especially considering the very visible splatter marks. Management ultimately compensated us with two beers totaling about $12—an underwhelming gesture considering my husband was left to continue the night wearing visibly stained pants that cost $70.
Now that we’re home, I have washed the pants twice, including a steam wash, and the stains are still clearly visible. The photos attached show the pants the night of the incident and then again after multiple washes. Despite management’s insistence, the sauce absolutely did stain, and the pants are unfortunately ruined.
It’s disappointing because the food truly was very good, and our server did her best under the circumstances. But the lack of accountability and professionalism from management overshadowed the entire evening. A more considerate and solution-oriented response could have completely changed the outcome of our experience.

I sat at the bar as a party of one. Even on a busy Saturday the server/ bartender was very attentive and friendly. I ordered the miso soup, two sushi rolls (the king crab and king lobster rolls) and a scorpion bowl for one. Everything was delicious abs i would definitely recommend it. I will return for sure!
