This place unfortunately commits the cardinal sin of having bad sushi rice, and then doubles down on it by having very rice-heavy rolls.
It is almost reminiscent of rice that was refrigerated at some point, but it could also be old, overcooked or possibly unwashed rice. It was hard to tell, but the result was glutenous and reminiscent of the rice in grocery store sushi.
In either case, this is a fairly easy fix, and the rest of the roll, including the fish and preparation is fairly fancy and interesting. Prices are fair and service is excellent.

Well after seeing such great reviews for this restaurant. It has only been about a month and a half. And it shows, waitstaff was running around crazy to make sure everyone was accommodated.
Well its situated in a small strip of shops, and parking can be tricky as there are some popular venues and another restaurant there as well. We got there just at the right time, got a up front parking spot, and the last booth. they line the outer area with booths, and have tables in the middle.
Took a couple minutes for our server to get caught up, but we had some amazing appetizers, sushi and dessert was amazing too!! Sushi was amazing, presentation was awesome, and the appetizers came out hot, and the only thing i would add for the appetizers is maybe having different dipping sauces for some of them, 3 different appetizers and the same sauce for all 3.used to something a little different in that aspect, just a suggestion. The appetizers were amazing without sauce..
This restaurant is going to be a top contender in Gainesville !!

I tried two types of veggie sushi as well as the beef teriyaki today and it was all really good! The sushi tasted so fresh! The beef had grill marks, slightly crispy on the edges and came with veggies and fried rice, the sauce had a fantastic flavor! I was very impressed!

Amazing selection of foods, interesting rolls and they have conch which I like.
Sushi rice insipid, no salt. Soup and salad arrived quickly, then 20 minute + wait for a simple roll and 2 nigiri. Maybe the food was up but nobody brought it even though there was a fellow walking around looking pensive and another stand by what I think was the register doing nothing. And maybe put some soy sauce in the takeout order.
Ate in and took home some dishes.
May give them another chance but they are way below Kinya across the street.

Solid sushi spot. The rolls are what you should be ordering. The udon noodles + broth are lacking flavor. But would recommend this place for sushi. The rolls are definitely a dollar or two more expensive compared to other places but the quality and quantity make up for it.

Awesome fresh sushi! Teriyaki chicken was really good. Miso soup broth was very flavorful and full of tofu, seaweed and green onion. I love that! Took us a while to order because so much of the menu looked incredible. Atmosphere was calm and quiet on a Thursday night.

I'm really skeptical about sushi places in Gainesville sometimes and I don't really write reviews unless I'm absolutely blown away so this place came as a really welcome surprise. Went here the other day with my roommates and I had a fantastic experience. I have really specific allergies but my waiter Sofia was so amazing and patient with all my questions and concerns. She recommended some rolls for me and the Kasai roll was one of the best pieces of sushi I have ever had. Wonderful and welcoming atmosphere, this is definitely a place I'm going to come back to
