i honestly want this place to go out of business. they’re living off the legacy of what luke’s bagels was, but this is not the luke’s bagels gainesville came to love. from the time we paid to the time we received our food, was 28 minutes. for two sausage egg and cheese bagels. on top of that, when we received the bagels, they weren’t even warm. i specifically asked if the bagels were toasted, which the cashier confirmed to me, but upon receiving them, they were not. the cheese was not melted, the egg was cold, and the sausage was lukewarm. can you explain why two sandwiches take 28 minutes to be given to a customer and they’re not even HOT? the bagels are dense and nearly stale, and they don’t taste like bagels, rather just hard bread. i’m shocked that they kept the name “luke’s bagels” but are sooo different. them not having any shaded areas or seats to wait is also insane. you have a whole parking lot (where no one can park!) and provide nothing for your customers. on top of that, it is so overpriced that i’m like actually angry. spending $25+ on two bagel sandwiches that are COLD is criminal. the cashier seemed like he’d rather be anywhere else, and the abundance of bagels they used to have is nowhere to be seen. if you haven’t been here in a few years, don’t go back. it is not what it used to be and shouldn’t even be allowed to call themselves luke’s. this is a fail. i’m so disappointed.

A bagel should not take 45 minutes! Half the people in line want the same thing.

Slow, prepare to wait 45 minutes for your bagel if you get any protein on it.

Use to be my favorite bagel spot… waited an hour today for two breakfast bagels to be told that they ran out of eggs and the pork roll wasn’t slicing correctly… out of almost every bagel and cream cheese. Super unhappy, not sure if it’s the new management but this is not the Luke’s bagels I remember
$14 for a breakfast sandwich. If it were any good I could let it slide, but the bagels here are bad. It’s not really even a bagel. It’s white bread pressed into a bagel shape.

Lets start with the pros. I ended up eating an onion with cream cheese toasted. The cream cheese had to be the best part of the bagel. Very soft, light, and spreads very easily. It was delicious as well. There was also still a very noticeable chewyness after being toasted. A big plus in my opinion.
Where Luke's fell short was just about every other department. Parking is extremely difficult to find within close proximity. There is little to no shaded space, so if you are at Luke's just before closing, have fun standing in the sun.
When we ordered, my friend and I also asked for and onion and everything with cream cheese, not toasted. We also asked for one of each just cut. We initially got our order missing one of our bagels, which was resolved quickly. However, both of our cream cheese bagels were toasted.
Again, Luke's bagels are being carried by the fact that the actual bagels themselves are quite exceptional. Only reason the food isnt 5 stars is because they got my order wrong. The other ratings, I feel, do have a very strong case of weighing the overall experience down.
Overall, they do have good bagels. But the experience was a far cry from other establishments.

I really like the food here, but after repeated bad experiences, I have to leave a negative review.
They are way overpriced and the service is extremely slow. I try to get around the slowness by ordering ahead, but unfortunately they do not handle DoorDash orders very well.
There have been multiple times when my DoorDash order wasn’t able to be fulfilled due to the restaurant closing early or being too busy, and there’s no way to get a refund if you’ve already placed the order.

Bagels are good. Employees are kind. Upper management is not supporting them. Wrong prices posted. Super false advertisement and huge inconsistencies.

We visited Luke’s Bagels on 5/4/25 for breakfast for the first time, and we were very underwhelmed. We ordered two bagels with cream cheese. It took over 45 minutes, from the time we ordered, to receive our food. Once we did, the bagels were cold. Worst service on record. NEVER AGAIN!
The bagel is good not great for the price. Service is horrible and expect wait times of over an hour with no seats.

This place is unbelievably awful. Waiting 30 minutes for a bad bagel is ridiculous. Figure it out.
Despite ordering ahead, have been waiting over an hour for an overpriced bagel sandwich and still nothing. They've given out about an order every 10 minutes. Great place to go if you don't value money or time because everybody has plenty of both, right?
Waited over an hour for our order just for it to come out as cold. Granted it was a football weekend, we understood the longer wait time. However, over an hour wait for bagels that aren’t good made the outing a disaster. Would not recommend.
