Four of us had a lovely dinner at Marks. There is a magnificent bar but we sat at a booth. Our server William was nice and informative. The tap water they serve is far better than other nearby restaurants. We started with one cocktail and an Austin Hope cab. They have the liter bottles which make it a good value and it is an outstanding wine. My guest who had a manhattan found it too sweet. The bread service was good. Especially liked the butter being at room temperature. Two of had the lamb chops and they were a good size and perfectly cooked to rare plus. Another guest enjoyed the crab cakes finding them full of crab rather than breading. Another guest got the grouper and found it wonderful. There is a parking lot across the street and Marks validation saves you $3 off the $13 cost.

Outstanding dinner and service . Our dinner started with great drinks and bread . The waiter was very attentive. Really enjoyed the mezcal cocktail and steaks were cooked to perfection . The twice baked potato and brussel sprouts were wonderful . One of the best meals we've had in a while . A lovely new year's celebration for sure ! Can't wait to go back !

Everything was wonderful, except for the waitress waited too long to take our cocktail order

We love this restaurant! However, we were disappointed in our ribeye. My husband and I shared it. For $68 we expected perfection. It tasted good but more fatty than I expected. My impression was they were cutting corners in order to increase profits. The fried lobster bites were delicious! The children's hamburgers were a value. We will return because we love the ambiance! I just hope they upgrade the ribeye!

Very nice service in classic steakhouse ambiance. However, NY Strip quality was shameful..the worse I've ever eaten at a reputable steakhouse. Very chewy with hard, inedible pieces. Crab powder and bread were pretty good, as was the filet.

We always have a wonderful experience every time we dine at Mark's. The whole staff is fabulous and I just don't have enough kind words to say how wonderful Carmell and Valerie are. You are truly blessed to have them at Mark's.

Our service was excellent. The ambience is very nice. Our food was just not that good. The bread was the only bright spot of our dinner. The Lobster Bites had a thick covering of fried bread and you could not taste the lobster at all. The steak was charred way to much on the outside. The shrimp on the salad was rubbery and over cooked. They charge Capital Grill prices but their product does not measure up to the prices they charge.

We visited for our anniversary dinner, and overall, we had a really nice experience. Parking downtown can get busy, so I recommend arriving early so you’re not circling or stressed before your reservation. Inside, the ambiance is definitely romantic — dim lighting, soft atmosphere, and a cozy upscale vibe. It’s great for date night or celebrating something special, though the lighting makes taking photos a bit tricky. For starters, I ordered the French onion soup. It was fine, but not as flavorful as I hoped — not bad, just not one of those soups that blows you away. The calamari, however, was easily some of the best we’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked, great texture, and really well seasoned. For my entrée, I ordered the petite sirloin, which was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly to temperature. My only complaint is that entrées don’t come with a side, which always feels a little annoying at a high-end steakhouse. We ended up sharing a baked potato, and it was huge — seriously one of the biggest baked potatoes we’ve ever seen, and it was delicious. C ordered the special of the night. He enjoyed it and liked the BBQ-style preparation, but wished it had just a bit more flavor. We also tried their specialty drink called the Midnight Treat, which was delicious. Unfortunately, the bar ran out of the drink halfway through our meal, so we weren’t able to order another round, which was kind of a bummer. Our waiter was attentive, and the service overall was warm and professional. The theming of the restaurant is cute, leaning toward a darker, more romantic style, so it’s perfect for anniversaries, date nights, or a special moment — definitely fancier than LongHorn, with pricing to match. One important tip: make a reservation. They get very busy on weekends. We actually tried to go on a different night and couldn’t get in without one, so plan ahead to avoid that disappointment. Overall, Mark’s is a solid choice if you’re looking for a special evening with great steaks, cozy ambiance, and attentive service. We’d return — especially for that calamari and baked potato.

We had a wonderful evening at Mark's Prime Steakhouse in Gainesville. The food was clearly fresh and well-prepared, but it lacked the depth and intense flavor I was expecting for a restaurant of this caliber. The service, however, was outstanding — attentive, friendly, and perfectly timed throughout the meal. The ambience was elegant yet comfortable, and the restaurant maintained a quiet, relaxed atmosphere ideal for conversation. The value was fair for a fine-dining experience, though it's definitely a special-occasion spot. Overall, a very good experience — excellent service and presentation, just hoping for a bit more flavor next time.

As a NYer ive been to a lot of steak houses and this ranks right up there. Great service, 2 different steaks were cooked perfectly and tasted great. In an area of the country that is lacking upscale food, this is a diamond in the rough. Definitely going back

Our server, Brandon (the younger of the two), provided exceptional service throughout the evening. We ordered Cosmos from the bar; however, the first two were overly heavy on the lemon. Brandon handled the situation graciously, ensuring the drinks were remade until they were perfect on the third attempt. His attentiveness and professionalism greatly enhanced our dining experience. The food was outstanding from start to finish. We began with the Lobster Escargot, crab cakes, and coconut shrimp—all beautifully prepared and flavorful. For our entrées, we enjoyed the filet, bone-in ribeye, and grouper. Each dish was served hot, perfectly cooked, and artfully presented. Mark's is an excellent choice for any special occasion, offering both exceptional cuisine and top-tier service.

Everyone in my party thoroughly enjoyed their dinner. My daughter and I had visited Mark's before, but our guest had not. She said that her steak (delmonico) made her mouth dance 🤣. Our server(Brandon) was very attentive. We will request him on our next visit.

One would anticipate a high echelon experience here. In fact, we’ve experienced just that and nothing less in previous visits. Unfortunately, our last experience has left us speechless, and beyond disappointed!! $70+ dollar steaks completely undercooked. We never complain; however, our steaks were so undercooked we had no choice but to send them back. When we got them back, they were completely charred and inedible. I cannot believe the server staff even felt it was acceptable to return to the table with $70 steaks in that condition, no less expect us to eat them.
The manager proceeded to tell us they wouldn’t charge us for the steaks, in addition to buying our first glasses of wine. When we got the bill, we were charged $200 for two appetizers and two sides, and EVERY glass of wine we ordered.
If you’re looking for a top notch steakhouse experience, go to Embers instead. You won’t be disappointed like you will be with Mark’s.
