I eat at so many new breakfast joints and EVERYTIME I compare their meals to Metro and leave disappointed. Metro sets the standard, and makes it feel like Im eating at my aunts. Just so impressed with this establishment, they feed me easily 6-7x a month.

My mom and I share birthdays so we decided to go to Metro. I’ve never been there. I am so happy We went there. Our servers name was Kyle. I believe he will always remember us. By far, he was the best waiter we’ve ever had it on our birthdays or anywhere. We had breakfast food, dinner, food, and dessert desserts and everything was five star. Amazing. The restaurant is very very clean. It is not a long wait for your food. Personally, I will be going back there many times. A special shout out to our waiter. My mom was a little bit crazy but after all it was her birthday and mine. He went along with everything she threw at him lol. On our birthday, we always go to Italian restaurants or steakhouses. That came to an end because Metro diner has anything you want to eat and way better service. Take your family there and have a wonderful experience like we did.

This is one of my favorite spots in Gainesville for a cozy meal that feels like home. Whether it’s a post game day brunch or fuel for a long study session, I know I can always count on Metro to set me up for a great day.
Working in the service industry, I have to applaud the team work, attentiveness, and enthusiasm that comes from this whole team. I’ve had excellent service every time I’ve visited - even at peak times when there’s a line out the door. Just a note: if you come on a Sunday (after a game day or after Church), it WILL be busy, but they will still have great service and food comes out quick. Have some grace and patience for a team that is working hard to get you your meals as soon as possible. Don’t be a Karen :)

The food is always excellent. I tend to get the same thing every time - the steak frites - and the consistency of that kitchen is amazing. It’s always delicious and always medium rare how I request it. There’s not a bad meal on the menu and I highly recommend the chicken and waffles (with their strawberry butter) or any of their egg breakfasts!
I’ve been to two of the other locations in Tampa, and I have to say the Gainesville Metro is by far the best. Great spot for family weekend or a big breakfast after a late Saturday night in Midtown.
Let's talk about KYLE! The food indeed is incredible, but the host sets the atmosphere and that is KYLE! KYLE (and yes I'm shouting his name) was so gracious and hospitable. His greeting, fast service, and food recommendations showed us that he wanted to ensure that we were served well and comfortable. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Somebody give this man a gold star and raise his pay! Frame a picture of him and put it on the wall! Oh...the chicken and waffles with the strawberry butter is to die for! Ask KYLE about the maple syrup and hotsauce concoction to dip the chicken in. OMG
