Everything was top notch! Food was all amazing, service was very attentive and thorough & ambiance was nice! We recently were in Napa and this restaurant reminded us of our restaurant experiences there! Gainesville has a winner here!
We are regulars at Mildred's. This time, it was for an anniversary celebration. As usual, the food was superb, especially my escargot appetizer, my wife's braised lamb and my duck breast. Our server was exceptionally friendly and nice. The kitchen must have been backed up, as it took longer than usual to get even our salads, but we were in no hurry, and, as indicated above, the food was all very much worth a bit of a wait. The noise level was a bit more than we remembered...
Mildred's Big City Food was absolutely delicious! Everything we tried was outstanding and stood out as unique compared to other restaurants in Gainesville. The only critique I have is with the octopus appetizer, it felt a bit skimpy for the portion size. I was expecting at least part of a tentacle rather than thin slivers. While it was tasty, I personally wouldn't classify it as a true appetizer.
