We stopped here to watch the Super Bowl while visiting from out of town. I understand this is a college dive bar but I think they need to try a little harder. No paper towels in the mens restroom the entire night even after telling a bartender, couldn’t get service unless we made eye contact with the bartender who would then walk over, and was mostly empty by the time the game was over. No complaints on the food and beer but expected more from a sports bar during the Super Bowl.
Consider my four to be like a 4.4, and the only reason it isn't a five is because of the condition of the building which is no fault of the owners. But I can't give a bar with sticky floors and a hole in the bathroom floor a perfect score. But when it comes to the quality of the food? Their burgers and chicken sandwiches are so good. All of their sides are decadent. And even their tacos are high quality. Their drink prices are rock bottom. The service? Absolutely top notch. I would not question it for a second if somebody asked me to come up there for the evening. It's a Gainesville institution for a reason and I hope it sticks around for as long as it can.

It’s a college dive bar, but it’s somewhat of an institution… 🤣 We’ve stopped by to see our daughter and her friends and had a couple drinks and bar food. We stopped after the Kentucky butt whuppin, 10/19/25, and had wings and a couple of beers for a nightcap! Wings were cooked good, service was a little slow. Will come back periodically and enjoy the college dive bar atmosphere.
