Our first stay here. Stunning grounds and beautiful cottages. Breakfast was only ok. We were not able to fully enjoy the breakfast because of bad communication. None of our dietary needs were given to the kitchen from when we booked the cottages. Also, no “famous” French toast casserole. Instead, there was oatmeal. Wonderful grounds and cottages. Disappointing breakfast.

This was our second stay at Sweetwater Branch Inn, and it won’t be our last. We’ve stayed in the Garden Cottage and Mae’s Cottage. Both are cozy and well-appointed. The grounds here are lovely. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The breakfast- oh my! The French toast casserole had me dancing in my seat at the thought of getting to experience that again! They’re also very conscious of their environmental footprint. On-demand hot water, compostable plates and cups for breakfast, no pesticides or fertilizers used to maintain the lush gardens…it’s a fantastic retreat from the real world but still close enough to entertainment that you can walk or borrow one of their bikes to ride. I highly recommend that you bypass the cookie cutter hotel stays and check out Sweetwater Branch Inn!

My husband and I stayed at the Lily cottage. It was the absolutely perfect getaway from the stress of everyday life. The gardens are beautiful and the main houses with the Christmas lights looked like something out of a postcard. The breakfast was delicious and had lots of variety. My favorite was the strawberry French toast casserole. The juzzuci was very nice. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed except a can opener. I called the front office and they got one for me. They work hard to make sure guests are comfortable and have what they need. I also like that they respected our privacy and only straightened up the inside of the cottage upon request. Staying at Sweetwater feels like taking a step back in time. You can feel the love that's been poured into this place. I hope I get the chance to come again soon! (hint, hint, to my husband!!)

Absolutely fantastic wedding venue. We had the best day ever for my daughter's wedding. Everything was perfect- every detail. They are also so great to work with. Highly recommend- and the food was fantastic too. :)

We stayed here after our daughters wedding 15 years ago and decided to stay there overnight for a trip to the panhandle. We were greeted promptly at 3 pm check in and offered a free upgrade to our room. The house is fabulous and we essentially had the whole place to ourselves since it was a Wednesday night in the summer. The breakfast next day was absolutely fabulous. Perhaps the warm eggs could have been kept warmer but otherwise the selection of food was fantastic. I would stay here again, although I am sure it gets pricey during events at UF.

The Sweetwater Branch Inn was a wonderful place to stay in Gainesville, FL! The staff was so friendly and helpful. There was a reservation mixup (our fault) so they were very accommodating about finding us another cottage. We stayed at Windsor Cottage, which was a lovely 1 bedroom full kitchen cottage. The breakfasts were excellent with homemade frittatas, breakfast casseroles, fresh fruit and coffee cakes. Their talented chef made something different every day. You can enjoy your coffee and breakfast on a lovely enclosed porch. A 'welcome' notebook in our cottage provided information about the Inn as well as a list of restaurants in the area. A word of warning about driving in Gainesville - there are streets, avenues, places and terraces and it is very confusing even with a GPS! We really enjoyed our stay at the Sweetwater Branch Inn and we highly recommend it if you find yourself in Gainesville.

What a gem hidden in Central Gainesville! Beautiful Victorian homes and cottages nestled in gorgeous grounds. We stayed in the Honeymoon cottage, which was adorable and very clean. I can't believe that anyone would pick a chain hotel over Sweetwater Branch Inn, which is clearly a well maintained labor of love. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The breakfast offered a huge variety of home cooked options. So glad we found this place--now we're looking for reasons to go back to Gainesville so we can stay there again. How often does THAT happen when you travel!?

The property and pool area is outstanding. The gardens are wonderful this time of year. Room which was the Honeymoon cottage. Well appointed and very clean, central located in the middle of gardens. Christina, sorry if I spelled incorrectly! Front desk was OUTSTANDING she anticipated our questions and answered all our concerns. She is a true assist to this B&B. Would recommend to family and friemds!

Beautiful, large property in quiet and picturesque part of Gainesville. Well appointed cottage, comfortable bed. We had an excellent breakfast in attractive glassed in porch of lovely old building. Delicious home made pastries and cakes and hot dishes. Lovely, well maintained gardens and plants with fish pond. Outdoor pool a treat after a long drive.

My stay at Sweetwater Branch Inn was beyond amazing, even before checking in on 03/25/2023! While driving to find the main entrance to check in, I was informed by Housekeeping Staff Tara where to park in order to go to the Front Desk. Tara demonstrated true Southern charm and courtesy, whom upon my leaving my room the next day asked about my pets and how I liked my stay. This is proof of caring for the patrons and the essence of true hospitality. Through no fault of Tara's, I still was unable to find the Front Desk and called the main phone number. Front Desk Agent Christine answered the call and demonstrating AMAZING customer service by staying with me on the phone and literally guiding me to the Front Desk and confirming the color of my car though I was still on University Avenue! The entire property is very well maintained, the gardens beautifully manicured, my room - Hawthorne - impeccably immaculate. As a previous Director of Housekeeping, I was beyond impressed. My breakfast experience was wonderful, the staff was courteous and polite, the selections of delicious breakfast items were very assorted. The property gives a spirit of peacefulness, relaxation and familiarity. I will definitely return here if I find myself in the area and very highly recommend these accommodations to anyone visiting the Gainesville area.

What an amazing property with amazing cottages that really plus the experience of visiting Gainesville. We stayed in Mae’s cottage and spent a lot of time hanging out at the pool late at night and catching up on old memories with friends. The rocking chairs on the front porch were really enjoyable!7

Sweetwater Branch is a very nice complex, with many rooms and (townhome style) cottages The only real negative thing we can say is we had a major allergy attack. We stayed in Lillys cottage, and neither of us are particular prone to allergies, but we suffered from never ending allergy attack while inside the cottage, Everything was fine outside, and Sweetwater has some very nice grounds. But for some reason Lilly''s cottage caused us to have never ending allergies. However, we only stayed one night, so we just took a lot of benadryl
