This is one of those iykyk places. I recently hosted a play reading and hired Carl and the UK to prepare and drop off the dinners. (Also it had to be precisely timed because of the nature of the read.) Not only was the UK *on time exactly* BUT the food was HOT, and DELICIOUS. My group chose from the chicken, morrocan meatloaf, and vegetarian crab cakes (amazing), complete with sides. I heard nothing less than glowing reports all nights. If you need catering, I will ALWAYS recommend Carl and the Underground Kitchen / Chef Empowerment. Amazing food and a terrific organization all around. Thanks, Carl! I honestly can't wait to hire you guys again!!!

The food was fantastic! I got the crispy yard bird and wife got the blackened catfish. Portion size is great! Food was hot even after traveling almost 20 minutes to our hotel with it. The owner is a very talented and friendly person who operates this restaurant for a very good cause. He even took the time to tell us how and when to order so we wouldn't arrive to find everything sold out like we did on our first visit. 😄 You need to phone your order in and they start taking orders at 4:00pm. Well worth the trip and we'll be back again for sure!

The food was excellent on both my visits. Food was hot and fresh. My only complaint is the ordering process. You must order by phone or wait for someone else’s delivery to place an order. The chef was super friendly and the portions were enough for two.

The food was perfection. Collard greens, mac n cheese, and the shrimp and grits were all amazing. To top it off, the owner/chef was so incredibly kind and helped us get our order in before we had to hit the road. 1000% recommend this spot! Def coming back for more next time in Gainesville! 🔥🔥🔥

I ordered my dinner 1.5 hours ahead of time. The service via phone was outstanding and food was delivered to my car so quickly. Instructions were easy to pay and the food was delicious! Credit, debit and cash accepted. I ordered from the regular menu and the weekly specials. I saw the menu on the Facebook page. Crispy catfish and Alfredo pasta was chef's kiss! Blacked catfish and collard greens, roasted ribeye was so big and full of flavor, and the pork chop was moist and delicious. We came on from Orlando and the food was so yummy. When you pickup park by the garden and you can easily see the UK for the building.
