Yamato Japanese Restaurant

I am here now. I had a 7:30pm reservation and I am still waiting for my food over an hour later. I would not recommend. We had to request to have our waters refilled. We were told it was a mix up with our tickets and the chef went to the wrong table by the waitress but management didn’t come out and address the situation. Then we didn’t get the right check and had to wait longer for the right check.

1st off , don't go on a Friday and expect to be seated right away. Which is expected in this town. But when we got seated, they had forgotten to turn on the stove thingy. So it was another 30 minutes AFTER we sat down to even start. You'd think they'd turned that on before the restaurant opened. So what should have been an hour long meal ,at most, turned into almost 2 hours... BUT the food is good. You won't be disappointed in that aspect. .

Just like any other hibachi place however this location was not the cleanest I’ve seen.

My plates were greasy and the floor did not look clean.

Service was good, our waiter was very nice and the chef was also friendly.

The prices are a little much for the quality of the food. I’ve went to so many other places with cheaper prices and better quality food.

Right before checking out, I saw a roach crawling under one of the stoves. You can look at other reviews and confirm that this isn’t the first time. I find it upsetting that this restaurant isn’t aware of the issue.

Soup and salad were good but then multiple cockroaches came out from the underside of our plates and we didn’t really feel like eating anymore so we left before we tried any of the main teppanyaki. The waitress was nice about it and understanding though.

Birthday Dinner & A Show
We had a large party to celebrate a birthday. Dinner was excellent. Chef Tommy delivered not only a delicious meal but a wonderful show! Our party varied in ages and everyone enjoyed the show. We had some of everything and plenty of it filet mignon, chicken, shrimp, scallops, salmon, veggies, noodles and rice.
This was my first time and I very much enjoyed it and will be back. For large parties some advice Yamato will not seat you until every guest has arrived. Thank You for a wonderful dinner for our family and friends.

We went to Yamato's on last week to celebrate my grandson's birthday. Our server Trae was awesome. He was friendly, attentive to our needs and had a great sense of humor. The Chef and the food was amazing. Thank you for going above and beyond and for providing a wonderful dining experience!

Hostess was friendly enough. The wait was about 30 minutes. However, I can't rate the food, as I lost my appetite after seeing 2 German cockroaches crawling along the edge of the hibachi grill. The chef saw them as well, and shrugged it off. As if it were a normal situation. We left quietly and went to the Korean BBQ place down the road.

We go here for everyone’s birthday. We looove it here.

Whoever, We had a rough experience a few weeks ago with waiting for an hour and the hostess was new and a bit confused. But it’s okay! We will still be back.
