Got a cappuccino, it was nothing special, more like a latte than cappuccino. Espresso wasn't as flavorful as I'd have thought for a dark Colombian espresso. Asked the barista some questions and she was not very interested or knowledgeable. The vibes however were fantastic, very eclectic, relaxing vibes with events , like live local music. I think if they focus on their coffee experience a little more, this will become a great gem.
Would have loved to give this place 5 stars, as the coffee was delicious and server was friendly, however I was charged $1 US extra to add a splash of soy milk to my drip coffee. When I can buy a whole carton of soy milk in the grocery store for $3 (and I’m sure a restaurant can get them cheaper from a supplier), it feels like highway robbery to add a surcharge for so little and only to non-dairy milk. While I still do not think it’s right to incentivize consuming dairy milk...
I love SumitrA. It’s such a gem in our community. Perfect place to work inside, meet a friend or sit outside and enjoy live music over a gorgeous beverage. Also a coffee to go is always an ease when on a time crunch.
