Over The Top Catering

This caterer was preferred by our venue, but our experience was deeply disappointing. Communication was poor from the start, and their online payment portal repeatedly malfunctioned, making it difficult to submit payments on time.
The food at the tasting was fantastic, which made the wedding day failures even more upsetting. We ordered chicken marsala, but instead received chicken covered in an unappetizing white sauce—so bad that I, the bride, had to send my plate back. The salmon was served with the wrong sauce, and our requested steak kebabs were replaced with over-seasoned, dry chicken.

On top of the food issues, the chef left before the reception began, so nothing could be corrected. The servers began clearing guests’ plates before they were finished eating, and poor communication due to language barriers caused further confusion during the dinner service.

Since the wedding, we have sent multiple emails to try to resolve the situation and request a refund—but the company has not responded at all.

We are extremely disappointed by both the service and the lack of accountability. Based on our experience, we do not recommend this caterer.

We hired Over the Top Catering for our wedding on 5/25/25. We had a good experience and were happy with the overall service. One of the biggest highlights was that the staff made sure we actually got to eat throughout the day, which is something you always hear is rare for the bride and groom! During cocktail hour, they brought trays of food directly to our suites, which we really appreciated.

For dinner, we were able to work with the chef in advance to create custom meals that went beyond the standard menu, which made our reception feel that much more personal. We also selected unique appetizers that were special to us and not part of the typical offerings which was great to have that level of flexibility.

Our signature cocktails were a hit with our guests, and the bar staff made each one perfectly. The cake was absolutely delicious, and we received so many compliments on it. The only hiccup was that the cake was taken away before we had a chance to do a formal cake cutting, and unfortunately, no one informed us which something we wish had been handled differently.

Also the chef personally came out earlier in the evening to congratulate us and check in with us, which we thought was a really thoughtful touch. All in all, it was a good experience, and we’re grateful to the team for helping make our day so special.

3. SERVED SALAD DRESSING FROM A BAG.
4. NO CAKE TASTING FOR BRIDE AND GROOM
5. EMAILED CHEF STEPHENS 5 TIMES THIS WAS TO BE A 3 TEIR CAKE AND IT WAS NOT.
6. NEVER RETURNED CUSTOM DESIGNED CAKE TOPPER.
7. THREW CAKE IN A BOX MANGLED MESS (PIC)
8. STAFF WAS NOT FRIENDLY OR HELPFUL
9. HIRED 2 BARTENDARS AND 1 DID NOT EVEN KNOW HOW TO MAKE A VODKA AND 7!
10. SERVED BUTTER KNIFE FOR STEAK DINNER.
11. WRONG CUT OF MEAT ORDERED AND SERVED
12. SPECIAL REQUEST FOR GLUTEN FREE MEAL NEVER HAPPEND AGAIN 5 EMAILS STRESSTING THIS.
DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THIS COMPANY!

I hired this company for a private dinner for 20 guest. Above and beyond! Very professional and “Over The Top”
