This is one restaurant I would recommend ordering from on uber eats because they still care for the food quality whether your eating inside or ordering I received my food nicely package gave me extra sauces they didn’t just throw my food in the bag or give you old food its fresh and good I got the fish and grits this morning 10/10

Truth Over Hype

Let me start by saying this: if you’re going to make me wait 45 minutes to an hour for food, it better be good enough to silence the inner hangry gremlin clawing at my stomach. And thankfully, this place understood the assignment—mostly.

I ordered the salmon bites with Gouda cheese grits, and folks, let me tell you, the flavor did not disappoint. The salmon bites were golden and crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned with the kind of care that says, “Somebody’s grandma taught them well.” The grits? Creamy, rich, and swirled with just enough Gouda to make you rethink every other grit experience you’ve had in your life. It was the kind of meal that makes you pause mid-bite just to appreciate what’s happening in your mouth.

I opted to sit outside at the picnic table, but it took nearly an hour to get my food. The seating was also limited, which meant I had to claim my picnic table like I was defending territory on a cooking competition show.

A little sunshine, a little breeze, and a whole lot of people giving me the side-eye as they walked by and smelled my food.

Final verdict? If you’ve got time, patience, and an appetite for flavor that punches above its weight class, this spot is absolutely worth a visit. Just maybe don’t show up starving—or with friends who get cranky fast.

Everything was too salty like how do you mess up cheese eggs? The pork chops were so hard and dry- the lemon pepper wets had too much lemon juice so they were sour AF - it’s like no one is tasting the food as they cook- that’s too bad because I look forward to eating here for so long- waited 35 min for 2 thin pork chops a scrambled cheese eggs and breakfast potatoes which was the only thing that tasted halfway decent and 6 lemon pepper wings and a can of Canada Dry- $30.01

this spot is tucked away in an industrial area, but the food and service were excellent, and to top that off, meet a few miami hurricanes 🙌🏾

Never again. The service is tortoise speed. The food smells good. Looks good, but never got a chance to taste it. I placed my order and waited a little over two hours before asking for my refund. Would not recommend.

I almost drive past it because of the location. Luckily, it had a few people outside eating that gave it away. It didn't take me long to place my order, but it took about an hour for me to receive my food.
The good: The food tasted good and was worth the amount paid.
The bad: It took an hour to receive my meal, and it was basically shimp and grits. There's limited seating, so it's best to get to go.
The review: Overall, the meal was good, and I saw a few other items on the menu that I would like to come back and try.

I use to LOVE this place. I loved it so much I use to bring my coworkers (Law Enforcement). I love to support black businesses so this was one of my go to spots on a regular. Well, one day I wanted to take my mom out for breakfast so I decided to go to Tasty G spot. Keep in mind that I go there so much (in and out of uniform) that the young lady at the door (the hostess) knows me by face. Anyway I arrive with my mom. Me and the hostess exchange pleasantries(she is amazing) We get seated and we order. I ordered the lambchop and grits. I requested it to be well done bc I don't like the sight of blood in my food. My mom ordered shrimp and grits. My mother food came first and it was perfect. When mine arrived there was blood dripping from the bone into the bowl of grits. You can literally see the blood on the top portion of my grits. So I called the waitress/hostess and asked her could they please cook the lamb longer and give me some new grits since it had blood all over it. She saw it and was extremely apologetic. I wasn't rude, I didnt make a scene bc sometimes accidents happen. When she returned she stated that the cook said the blood is coming from the bone and thats normal (That is a lie I eat well done lambchops all the time including from there and thats NEVER happened). The chef also stated that I can replate the grits myself and if I wanted more grits I would have to pay for both set of grits. I was a little taken back but I was like Ok well I will just order sumthing else and then I was told I would still have to pay for the chops. At this point I was mad. I was about to just walkout and not pay for anything but the ONLY reason why I didn't do that was bc I didn't want the restaurant to take it from out of the waitress pay and I wasnt sure what their policy was. If it wasn't for the waitress I would have left ALL OF THAT FOOD on the table and walked tf out.Instead I packed the food up, paid the money and vowed NEVER to promote or step foot in that establishment again. The cook was very unprofessional in the way he handled the situation. I understand they have a policy that is written on the wall about no refunds or exchanges but the chef messed up my order NOT me. I requested WELL DONE and he gave me a bloody lambchop with bloody grits. This happened on January 31 2025 and I haven't been back since. Btw I ended up just throwing my plate away. Customer Service is extremely important to me. I spend my dollar where I'm appreciated. Huge shoutout to the hostess/waitress she was always professional
