Tasty G Spot

From the outside, this restaurant doesn’t look like much, and honestly, you might think twice before going in. But we did—and I’ll admit, the inside is absolutely beautiful.

My husband and I drove two hours south to try this spot after seeing it on IG, and we also wanted to support a Black-owned business. Unfortunately, that’s where the excitement ended.

We arrived at 11:30am, were greeted immediately, and seated right away. Our server—a younger woman whose name I can’t recall—was very sweet and attentive. Drinks came quickly, so we thought things were off to a good start.

We ordered food at 11:40am (French toast & chicken, and the Creole seafood omelette with lobster and shrimp). Here’s the problem: our food didn’t arrive until 2:30pm. Yes—you read that right. More than two hours to get our meals, and we weren’t the only ones. Multiple guests who arrived before us were also waiting endlessly.

When the food finally came, it tasted good. However, the menu descriptions are misleading:
• The “French toast & waffle” should really be listed as French toast & wings.
• The “Creole seafood omelette with lobster and shrimp” was actually closer to crawfish & shrimp.

The flavors were there, but waiting over two hours for a meal is unacceptable. As a professional chef myself, I know kitchens get busy, but if my team was that backed up, everyone would jump in to help push orders out. I even saw the cook step out of the kitchen, clearly frustrated, likely asking for help he never got.

Bottom line: The food was tasty, the service was kind, but the wait time was ridiculous. If this continues, they’ll lose a lot of customers. Sadly, despite the good flavors, we will not be returning.

I took my mom here for her birthday and I must say this place did not disappoint. I recommend making reservations to be seated faster but overall it was worth the wait. Our waitress was Mimi and she was very professional, super sweet and attentive. The Strawberry Lemonade was by far the best I’ve ever had and the food was literally a 10/10. I like the setup, the music and overall vibe. Needless to say I’ll be back and SOON at that lol.

I've been dining at Tasty G’s for two years now, and I can confidently say: every dish I’ve tried is a solid 10/10. And that’s coming from someone who used to avoid grits like a bad blind date. Somehow, Tasty G’s turned me into a full-blown grits convert , and I’m not even mad about it.
My family and I always feel right at home here. The staff greet us like long-lost cousins at a family reunion, warm & genuine.

The music 🎶 is always on point! 😂

Recently, I had the honor of being invited to the soft opening of their new location. The verdict? Still as delicious as ever. Tasty by name, tasty by nature.

Huge congratulations to the team at Tasty G’s! I can’t wait to explore the new menu additions ; if my stomach had a bucket list, this place would be at the top.

Do yourself a favor and eat at Tasty G’s. Your taste buds will thank you , and so will your mood. Disappointment? Never!!!

I had the pleasure of attending the soft opening for this wonderful establishment and might I say it was a pleasantly memorable experience. The service staff was attentive the food was hot and delicious, and the drinks were amazing as well. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience and will definitely come back. A++

I visited from out of town and wanted some good down home food! I was impressed! I ordered the catfish and grits, Cajun shrimp and grits. Absolutely delicious! 10/10+ Oh and the mango juice was tasty as well! Staff were wonderful! I’ll definitely be back!

The best brunch and breakfast spot in miami/hollywood florida. This was wonderful. Everyone is intentive to your needs. Food is delicious and filling. Food comes out quick. Will be back.

This is one restaurant I would recommend ordering from on uber eats because they still care for the food quality whether your eating inside or ordering I received my food nicely package gave me extra sauces they didn’t just throw my food in the bag or give you old food its fresh and good I got the fish and grits this morning 10/10

Listen and I mean lissssssssssttttttten the food here A1 !!!!!!!! Now it’s a little snug on the inside if you wanna dine in . But when the food touches your soul Who cares ? 🤣. Definitely worth every dollar & the customer service was on point as well ! This is my new food spot 💪!
