I’ve been to El Palacio de los Jugos before and usually enjoy the food, but this visit was extremely disappointing.
I don’t speak much Spanish, but I try. I ordered something very simple: black beans, white rice, and a steak. I asked how much an additional steak would be and clearly heard $5.95, so I agreed and ordered two of the same meals. When I got to the register, the total was almost $58, which didn’t make sense. When I questioned it, I was told the extra steak was actually $15.99.
I was calm and respectful the entire time, but the employee assisting me became rude and dismissive. I stood my ground and explained that I didn’t deserve that attitude. Thankfully, another coworker stepped in, translated, and helped correct the issue by removing the extra steak. I appreciated their help and professionalism.
Unfortunately, the issues didn’t end there. When I got home to feed my husband, who is currently sick, we noticed that the cup of black beans had only broth and no actual beans. At that point, my husband was very upset and felt that we were treated unfairly and given poor quality food because I don’t speak Spanish.
This experience made me feel targeted and uncomfortable for simply being myself. I truly hope management addresses customer service and consistency, because no one should feel disrespected or shorted over a language barrier.

El Palacio de los Jugos is definitely a Miami staple, and there are some things that make it worth visiting, but overall, my experience lands in the middle, which is why I give it 3 stars. The variety of food is impressive—whether you want Cuban sandwiches, fresh juices, or full hot meals like lechón, rice, beans, and plantains, the menu has something for everyone. The portions are generous, and the flavors are authentic, which really does capture the essence of traditional Cuban cuisine. The juices are also fresh and refreshing, especially on a hot Miami day, and that’s one of the highlights of coming here.
That being said, there are downsides that make the experience less enjoyable. The biggest issue is the service. The staff is usually very fast-paced, but it often comes across as rushed and sometimes even a bit impatient. If you’re not familiar with the setup, it can feel confusing and overwhelming, especially when there’s a line. Cleanliness is another area where things could improve—the seating areas and tables don’t always feel well-maintained, and given how busy the place gets, it can look messy. Prices have also crept up over time, and while the portions are big, the cost doesn’t always feel justified for the quality of service provided.
I loved this place, the food is delicious and the service is very good, the girls are very nice, especially Yailyn, very attentive to me, and helped me choose my food, this place is 10/10
