This is a MUST AVOID if you’re in the area. We arrived with three adults and three children. They gave us two seating options. Add two chairs to a small table of 4, or split up into two tables behind each other. At the time there were 3 other tables of two there (7:20pm on a Sunday). Service was fine but that was all that was. I ordered eggplant. The cost…$35! A flat fountain soda…$7! The side salad that came with my eggplant dish was a pile of lettuce that was partially wilted, topped with 5 canned black olives, horribly roughly chopped white onion, and two grape tomatoes. Salad dressing was solid.
My meal wasn’t half bad but that price is absurd. I did ask for a different sauce on my pasta. The waiter said that the chef was particular about a different sauce and there would be an upcharge. They wouldn’t do Alfredo but did do vodka sauce. Upcharge for a different sauce on a side pasta…$10.
Kids didn’t like the pizza, left hungry and went back to eat again.
Oh and it’s probably a health code violation to not have a functioning bathroom. They said “well thankfully he’s a boy so he can go outside” as I walked my child outside to pee in the grass. Also overheard them mess up the pizza order with the table behind us. Awful.

To all future customers, I have been going here for 14 yrs, 4 times a yr. I buy 2 Enjoyment books that give you 2 coupons per yr. for a discounted price. He had the best veal parm in town. I've lived in Palm City for 40 yrs and by far the best. Throughout the years I was able to see the cut back on food. As a former restaurant owner in Ohio I watched my portion very careful. I ate there yesterday, the only Amato was the daughter cooking. The food has gone downhill. The veal parm is thin as typing paper, the sauce tasted tomato sauce, even watered down. He used to be decent with his prices. $2.50 for a soda, yesterday's soda in a plastic cup was $7. The veal parm used to be $18 about 5 yrs ago, yesterday it was $34. There were 2 new servers the regular 3 we have known through the years, 2 have gone, 1 works a couple days a week. I guess to the poor tipping with an unhappy meal. I't a shame that he took his prices up about 26% in a little over a year. He bought 10 bar stools and painted the inside. Silverware needs to be sorely upgraded. This doesn't quantify for the exorbitant prices they are now charging. We had dinner at 5:30pm there was another couple, I know it is out of season, but that is when we like to go there (no crowd). but it was always packed out of season. It's a shame, it looks like he lost his local clientele. If you can afford to go there and pay that money for noodles that are uncooked and watered down sauce I just hope you are happy when you leave. We won't be back.

Pizza was good. Coke was $7 and the draft beer I had was also $7. It was warm also, so a Pizza, one Beer and one soda was close to $50.

I ordered takeout from Amato's for my family last night, and let me tell you — it was nothing short of a religious experience. The alla vodka sauce was so good, I seriously considered ordering a second helping just to bathe in it.
We also got a large pizza with meatball and caramelized onions, and I’m convinced this is what pizza in heaven tastes like.
And no, I’m not related to anyone who owns or works at Amato’s — though after last night’s meal, I’m seriously considering naming my next child Amato Clark.
Thank you to the amazing team at Amato’s — you've got a lifelong fan here.
Sincerely,
A very happy (and still full) Hobe Sound resident.

The waitress was nice enough..although too fast at taking away our plates..had to tell her on 2 occasions that I wasnt done with the plate..i was annoyed to see that my salad dressing was taken..i had enjoyed the house dressing and saved some to dip the bread in.,only to see she had taken it.but the salad was crap…some head lettuce, white onions and a few Olives..my husband enjoyed the chicken cacciatore ok, but it was heavy/greasy which didn’t sit well. Red sauce was very good. Chicken piccata was awful….poor quality chicken,,and the sauce was bland..capers had NO taste.. pasta that came with it had the same sauce…and so that wasnt very good either…and the oasta was swimming in this watery sauce!,…wish they had asked if I wanted that sauce or the marinara sauce (which is what I’ve had at other places). Soft drinks were $7! And full of ice. $30for the entrees was a bit much for what we got. We were disappointed in the quality of the food..astonished at $7 for a coke and generally not pleased..we wont be going back.
Perfection! The food was amazing. The staff was attentive and the atmosphere was quaint and beautiful. Slight miss-communication between servers, but the cook remaid my dish and I'm so grateful she did. The Chicken Toscano was amazing and absolutely worth the wait! Will be back every time we visit Hobe Sound.
I used to love their regular pepperoni pizza. Something has changed…it’s thin and not as tasty. Ordered twice. Wish they had their old crust. Tiramisu is awesome.
