Order pasteles to take with me two weeks ago. They were awful. I was born and race in Puerto Rico . Who ever did those pasteles they need to get someone that know real Puertorrican pasteles . I had dinner ,mofongo was alright masita de puerco was delicious a 4 review for that type of food. Real disappointed when I just came back home driven to North Carolina 11 hours traffic and then boil the pastels and no taste at all . Sorry one less customer and my daughter that lives in Miami . Thank you

Elizabeth is the owner/cook at this establishment. Her cooking is fantastic. Each plate can feed two people. A dinner plate is $15.00. Good luck finding a better place.Lilly at the front is great. Best food and service, by far.

I really wanted to like this food. I was so excited about eating PR food. But I have to say I was so disappointed. First of all the seats are so sticky and even though they were clean I just couldn’t get passed the fact my clothes and hands gets getting stuck on the bench. Then I ordered food and waited a while only to get not such great food. My husband ordered the churrasco with white rice and sweet plantains. The only thing that was good was the meat. The rice was hard and had this strange yellow hue and the sweet plantains were cold in the middle. My pork sandwich was mostly fatty meat which really grossed me out it and my mother in law’s food was ok, in her words. She ordered the Chicken a la parilla with mofongo. I have to say the quality of the food was not there and it’s sad because I used to go here before and it used to be good. Also, the alcapurria we order was delicious but it barely had any meat. Overall, I won’t be eating here again. It was honestly a waste of money for some mediocre food. :(

This was my first visit & I was highly disappointed. For starters, I see other photos posted with the same meal as mine with a salad (mine did not come with one). The plantains were not Fresh nor did it have visible pieces of pork rinds as I'm use to... They were extremely mashed up. The Alcapurria tasted like it was microwaved and not even crispy.. ? Five Shrimps received & they tasted bland. I had to empty the garlic sauce of my shrimps into my mofongo cause it was extremely dry if not I would not be able to eat it. $25 it cost to eat for one person plus tip if you choose to do so. The portion of food was very small & I've uploaded a photo for you to compare what I receive of food for $9.99 at the restaurant next to my house. I will not return. My experience was not authentic one..

Just a tourist looking for excellent Puerto Rican pasteles. First we got there a few minutes before they opened, but they let other customers in, but told us to wait outside until they opened at noon. A very nice young man (customer) opened the door and invited us to wait inside and thanked me for my military service. I don’t speak Spanish, but thought I was clear in my ordering pasteles with the cashier. Got something completely different, the receipt said it was fried pork chunks with monfongo for $12.95. I went back to the cashier with a picture of pasteles and she said they had them for $4 and change, so I got 2 hoping they were good like ones I had in other places. Unfortunately the pasteles were not good. Fortunately the fried pork chunks and stuffed tostones rellenos were good.

The waitress is very attentive to serve, we are fine, but the cashier, that lady is very rude and makes unpleasant gestures, less appreciative of the customer, the food unfortunately does not have the flavor it had before, when the lady and her daughter were there, it had a very excellent Puerto Rican flavor, I have been visiting this restaurant for several years and you can see the difference in the quality and service, to top it all off a man serving food with a strong (cigarette) smell

This is definitely not a true Puerto Rican restaurant. The mofongo seems to be made with boiled plantains, had no taste, no garlic or chicharrones. The alcapurrias were bland tasting and had hardly any meat. Will definitely not be eating there ever again. So disappointed. Le falta sabor criollo!
