We even had the pleasure of meeting Lisa, the owner, who was so welcoming and friendly. We had a great chat, and to top it off, she even sent out a little oyster dish on the house — such a thoughtful touch!

It is nice and crispy on the outside and the inside is super flavorful with the right amount of filling. It is worth going to Casa Borinquen for the Alcapuria, but wait. The monfongo is also awesome. I had it once with "carne frita" and then with "bistec encebollado", both were great. Go to Casa Borinquen, you will love the food and the quaint ambiance of the restaurant, and their friendly staff, and you will keep going back!”

“I tried Con Hambre in Hollywood and it honestly just felt good being there. The place is really clean — not just tidy, but actually well kept — which always matters to me when I’m eating somewhere new.
The customer service was great. Everyone was welcoming, and Madilenne especially stood out. She was so friendly and kind, and you can tell she genuinely cares about the people who walk in. It didn’t feel transactional — it felt personal.
I had the sancocho and mofongo. The sancocho tasted like real Dominican comfort food — rich broth, soft viandas, tender meat, and that deep flavor that reminds you of home. The mofongo was soft, garlicky, and not dry at all — just made right.
It’s hard to find Dominican food that actually tastes authentic, and this place really delivers. I left full, happy, and already thinking about going back.”

(The restaurant has indoor seating, seating immediately outside the entry, and seating adjacent to the street.) The ambiance was relatively quiet where we were seated and more lively closer to the street.\n\nI chose the restaurant because I wanted to sample Romanian food. I ordered the Romanian goulash soup. My spouse ordered the spaghetti Bolognese. I found the goulash soup to be more of a stew. Quite good, but not as spicy or soupy as I recall the Hungarian variety to be. My wife thought the spaghetti Bolognese to be very good.\n\nThe Russian waitress was very attentive and provided excellent service.\n\nWe may visit the Romana again when passing through Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood.”

We arrived about 8 minutes late yet they had our table of 7 waiting for us in a very cozy corner. In addition, they had a band that aligned with our age group so everyone sang along. Probably due to the fact that it was a Friday evening and the elderly like to come out for early bird specials. Once seated our group service was on point. Matt our server for our group has a great attitude, very interactive and attentive. Orders were taken promptly for drinks and appetizers. Food orders for kids and everyone was also filled rather quickly considering the place was packed. The food was great; good portions, taste and very satisfying. The manager also did a great job coming to check on things after we were seated but also kept us up-to-date on the status of waiting to be seated. Great experience overall! 🥳”
