“Tried this gem for the first time and my goodness! I will definitely be back! The food was fresh, delicious, and well priced. Everything was cooked to perfection. I had breakfast while my husband had the dinner. Both of us were extremely satisfied with our dishes. Looking for a good old fashioned breakfast, look no further! Want delicious corn bread, fried pork chop, grilled snapper, homemade Mac and cheese, and candied yams, look no further. Service was excellent, it felt like you were in your favorite aunt's kitchen. 10 out of 10, I highly recommend!“

“Had some time on my hands after dropping of my daughter for a function and looked for something to have some breakfast. What a treat it was to find Derrys family restaurant. To begin the service was awesome, as soon as you walk in you feel it in the air as you are greeted with a heartfelt good morning. The food was of the chain. Fryed snapper, potatoes, sunny side up eggs, and biscuits. When I say everything tasted awesome, I meant it. Whenever I am in the area again, I will certainly be back.......... Went back a second time, was just as good as the first time, 7 yrs previously.“

“This is the worst place on the planet, where you have to beg for a glass of water and the bar attender gives you the worst attitude and refuse to give you water. A freaking water!!! She ignores everything you ask, she doesn’t even bother to look at you!!! How?? Why??? Never in my life I have experienced something like this! Please, if you are not happy working there then you need to quit!!! Management, you are loosing customers there! You guys are in customers service business!!! “the food is very good most the time the potatoes not alway hot alway check that they give you the right order, they dont always anwser the phone they say 20mins for all the orders then you get there it's one or another . i still go there just not alot any more“

“Try something different for lunch today in Downtown Fort Lauderdale area, try Blue Tree Cafe Vegan Soul Food by Nika King. This little cafe serves up all the soul, as Nika’s mom, Chef Sharon cooks up all of your soul food favorites, for a very reasonable price, plus special for this month, they have a home made burger for 954 Burger Month. The Black Bean Soul Burger is made with black beans, brown rice, toasted walnuts and a variety of spices and herbs. It’s served on a vegan brioche bun smered with a chipotle compound butter and house dressing, served here with hand cut sweet potato fries. The menu also has a lot of great options too, the crab balls are my favorite! Hours are limited as they are only open Tuesday - Thursday, 11-6 and are cashless business. They are located at 612 NW 9th Ave Ste A in Ft.Lauderdale, close to downtown, but they have do have a private free parking lot. Highly suggest checking them out this week, and trying the burger before the end of the month.“
