We were visiting from Chicago and this place was a gem! As chicago has very great variety of food this place was on point. The lady was very welcoming and we ordered paye with naan which was delicious authentic pakistani recipe mild spicy and tasteful!Lady was very nice and we felt welcomed even thou it was early afternoon around 12pm, but we left the place satisfied hoping to visit it soon on our next trip!Kid-friendliness: Lady was very friendly with my 2 little kids who did make a mess and were being loud.

Stopped by with family for lunch. Spent over $110. Gave us a spoiled Aloo Begun. I returned it back to them. The server lady took it back but didn't even say sorry. When it was time to pay, she charged me for the item plus 18% gratuity. I had to request her to remove the item. Not even a single sorry from her again. Very bad customer service.Fyi, I am also a restaurant owner. I didn't want to give a bad review, but this was beyond tolerable. I told them about the spoiled item, but the server lady straight out said, "Nope, it was fine"

Food used to be good, but everything has changed lately the service is horrible, the prices went up and the food isn’t that great anymore. I was served by Saima, she was straight up rude and had a nasty attitude, complained about her to the owner and was not given an answer in fact the owners attitude was also like he doesn’t care. I get it that you have to stand with you employees but when they are wrong then you should take action.

Why: 11 violations (two high-priority), including at least 163 rodent droppings “on dishwashing machine,” “underneath cooking equipment on cook line,” “underneath three-compartment sink” (next to cook line), “in prep area underneath handwash sink” and “in dry storage area between double-door refrigerators.”An employee was seen touching cooked pita bread “with bare hands,” and a chef was wearing “no hair restraint while engaging in food preparation.” Among other employee violations: “smoking (while) engaging in food preparation;” and “drinking from an open container (while engaging) in food preparation.” An employee’s cell phone was “stored on shelf next to sandwich bread.”Finally, the state spotted an “accumulation of black mold-like substance buildup on AC vents and ceiling tiles throughout kitchen,” as well as “standing water in handwash sink at prep station draining very slowly.”

A very good restaurant has turned into a real disaster. I used to be a frequent visitor to this place but would not recommend it to anyone now.The owner has jacked up the prices to an unreasonable level. The quality of the food is really bad especially the nihari which I bought today. Anyone wanting to spend their hard money at this place would end up regretting it. In short just go there at your own risk.

I have visited Ellie's Restaurant on 26 Oct 2023 at Fort Lauderdale Florida USA and had dinner with my friends. I really enjoyed desi food with lot of variety of dishes. Our table host was a Pakistani Girl who served us like a family with love and care. It was awesome. I will remember her hospitalities.
