Hoshi is always full of people enjoying their food when we eat here. Never packed but perfectly busy. The atmosphere & staff are great……one person among a few stands out to us most, Eugene, the sushi chef. We love sitting at the bar & he is always friendly & smiling! He encourages us to try new bites and decorates the sushi in such a way that you want to eat every piece. Some of our favs are Tom kha soup, Fuego roll, Lobster roll & various pieces of sashimi. The only bad thing I can say is that my stomach isn’t big enough to eat more great sushi!! Thanx Hoshi for many great experiences! Our new favorite place ❤️

The food is a very average quality. Service is definitely not up to 4.7 stars rating on Google. The interior looks like you went back in time about 20 years. Busy and cheap decor on walls, looks messy and tasteless. Prices are too high for what they offer. Definitely needs some remodeling and updating. Sorry.

Quick summary, the place is very cute inside, with kind service and exceptional food! There is indoor and outdoor dining available. I was very impressed by the quality of the food and my oh my the flavorssss!!!! The duck basil is an absolute must! This is such a well balanced dish with flavors reaching all of your tastebuds! The portion is excellent and you get your money's worth. The shrimp tempura roll was also great tasting with fresh ingredients. When you're spending your money at any point in time, you can always appreciate fresh quality ingredients used in your dishes. I just wish the roll was a little bigger! The hot green tea was especially delicious and kept nice and hot in the cutest black tea pot. I wish I had tasted dessert, but safe to say I will be back to try some of their options! Parking is available on the street right next to restaurant which makes it extremely convenient.
Last minute, we decided to attend the St Pat's Day Parade in Hollywood (Young Circle) 40 min drive from us. Found easy parking, and ran to catch NYC Police Irish bagpipes at the front. SO suggested we sit outside at Hoshi. Japanese/Thai. Sapporo, and nigiri sake & brussel sprouts to start. Sweet crispy glazed kimchi sauce awesomeness. Next, the Yum Woonsen. Looks like an appetizer portion, but could be lunch. Bowl looks shallow, but surprises you. Ask for a spoon or fork to pick up all of the fine ground porky goodness left in the liquid. Great find just off the circle.

Edit 2: after coming here several times over the course of several years I have to say the food is TERRIBLE, has gone way down hill.The Pad Thai tasted and smelled burnt. The quality of the food is not good. I felt ill after eating here. Would not recommend! I’m never eating here again.Edit 1: coming here several times I have noticed that about half the time the food is overly salted. I now ask for less salt when I order.Great Thai food! The best Pad Thai and Pad See Ew I have had since I was in Thailand years ago. This place blows Red Thai on Hollywood Blvd out of the water.
