They were closed. We had a reservation for a month on the 1st of Nov, and when we got there ... they were closed! Called and it says they're closed till Dec for remodels. So they need to update their information. Other than that I've dined there before and it's amazing and I can't wait till they open.

Skip it. There's so many better places downtown. 20% Automatic gratuity on happy hour! One drink every 30 mins and long waits on food really feels like they are trying to pace happy hour orders. When it did finally get out of the kitchen, the oysters were totally bland and sauces provided were overpowering and did not compliment the oyster. While the decor is nice, the owner has no idea how to run a restaurant. The owner screaming at customers looked terrible, and sounded kind of racist. Really not worth checking out. Very disappointing experience.

My first and last time there!!! Will never go again!
I walked in the door and was there 5 mins before I encountered the manager/owner! Was there for a friend’s birthday and was never so insulted! She was rude and disrespectful! Yelling on a microphone that you couldn’t get a drink if you’re not seated at the bar! And once seated, others couldn’t stand!!! I’ve never been so insulted! I believe there were too many African Americans in the spot at one time! We’re all professionals making well over $100k a year! I will never spend a penny there! And I’ll make sure no one else I knows will either! I’ve also let the City of Hollywood Chamber of Commerce know as well!!! Don’t go there!!!

I brought my work team to JNC Oyster after a friend recommended it — and it ended up being an incredible experience. I had never heard of the place before, but the atmosphere was perfect, the food was outstanding, and the staff was warm and attentive.

We even had the pleasure of meeting Lisa, the owner, who was so welcoming and friendly. We had a great chat, and to top it off, she even sent out a little oyster dish on the house — such a thoughtful touch!

Everyone on the team was impressed, and I’ve officially decided that JNC Oyster will be my go-to spot for all out-of-office meetings going forward. Highly recommend!

What an incredible find! I’m so glad I stumbled upon J & C Oyster — this place is a hidden gem. The seafood was unbelievably fresh, and you can really taste the quality in every bite. The lobster roll was absolutely amazing — buttery, loaded, and perfectly seasoned. And don’t even get me started on their homemade habanero mango hot sauce — it took the oysters to a whole new level! The staff was warm, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Dining at JNC Oyster was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked in, it was clear we were in for something special — but nothing prepared us for just how extraordinary the food would be.

The chef is a true master of his craft. Every dish that left the kitchen was a testament to technique, creativity, and a deep respect for ingredients. You can feel the confidence and intention behind each plate — bold flavors balanced with delicate precision.

Among the many highlights, a few dishes truly stood out:
• Snapper Ceviche: Bright, fresh, and perfectly acidic. The snapper was incredibly tender, and the flavors popped with every bite. It was the kind of dish you want to order twice — once for now, and once more before you leave.
• Chilean Seabass: Silky, buttery, and cooked to absolute perfection. It flaked effortlessly under the fork and melted in your mouth. The preparation honored the fish while elevating it with nuanced seasoning and a beautiful presentation.
• Thai Crab Curry: A showstopper. Rich, aromatic, and complex — the curry sauce had a deep, layered flavor that complemented the sweetness of the crab without overpowering it. It was comforting, luxurious, and wildly addictive.

The service was attentive without being intrusive, and the atmosphere managed to feel both upscale and welcoming.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable seafood experience — one that’s elevated but soulful — JNC Oyster delivers on every level. The chef’s vision and execution make this a must-visit destination for food lovers. We’ll absolutely be back.

Customer service was HORRIBLE! Manager very RUDE! Didn't even get chance to order food or drinks. Had a party of around 30 people.

Attended my girlfriend's bday today during happy hour and it was a disaster. Arrived with several friends and as soon as we arrived we were treated like second class citizens.
The young lady at the door who turned out to be the owner was unprofessional and disrespectful. She got on the microphone screaming at us to be seated or we would not be served, telling us we were a fire hazard because we had not taken a seat. We did not have a opportunity to sit. We were simply saying hello to the other guest and she immediately took a stance that was unwarranted and unprofessional. She was rude and disrespectful to the birthday host, so much The host asked everyone to leave and we all went to a different ar and grill and had a wonderful time.
FYI my girlfriends and myself that arrived for the happy hour are all professional African American adult women.

We will never patronize this establishment again and will warn others not to do so as well.

Just had dinner at j&c Oyster and the food was spectacular.
We really want to come back. Our attendant Sergio was knowledgeable of the food and wine and very kind. I'm sorry I did not get the name of the lovely lady that works there and is originally from the west coast. She was interesting and lovely, told us she was from California and lived in Washington State and moved to Florida. She know all about the different oysters and we had a great chat.
Really recommend the restaurant. 🙏🏼

J&C’s Oyster Bar: A Local Gem with a Soulful BiteThere’s something magical about sitting at the chef’s counter at J&C’s Oyster Bar—it’s not just a seat; it’s a front-row ticket to culinary intimacy. From the first bite of their snapper ceviche, I was transported. The dish is so light, bright, and impossibly fresh it took me straight back to being five years old, eating snapper caught by my grandmother. That kind of food memory doesn’t come easy.

The Thai crab curry was a showstopper—pillowy lumps of crab in a velvety curry that was somehow both delicate and deeply fragrant. Every spoonful melted like a secret you’re glad got out.

And the C-side martini? Salty, bold, and unforgettable. I didn’t expect to meet my new favorite briny martini that night, but there it was—smoky glass, chilled stem, pure bliss.

What made the experience even more special was the warmth from the chefs, who made my birthday feel like a celebration among friends. This place doesn’t just serve seafood—it serves stories, nostalgia, and the kind of attention that makes you feel like you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.

My daughter and I come here almost every Friday. They have a daily Happy Hour menu from 5-7, including Friday’s that is perfect. We get the shrimp cocktail, fried chicken and mussels. We have also had the cucumber salad and cauliflower. Everything is absolutely delicious and the staff is even better. We sit with Alex every time at the chef’s counter. We love him!!!

This is a great restaurant in downtown Hollywood. Excellent food and cocktails. The Hamachi and fried chicken appetizers are fantastic.

Great cocktails also - especially the Taragon Collins and Shishito Paloma.

We can appreciate keeping an oyster bar and fish forward restaurant super cold via AC, but when you don't serve dishes together and partners having dinner wait 20 minutes between each plate being served lends itself to eating alone or eating cold food. We understand that is a theme of restaurants, "family style" and the plates come whenever it's done, but some people come to eat as couples, and like to wait for each other to eat. Almost 30 mins for a hamachi crudo seems to be the antithesis of an oyster bar atmosphere (which is very nice btw) the food took forever and the wine pour so small that we left feeling. underwhelmed for what we ate vs what we paid. Very pleasant staff, but seemed like they need to refine the kitchen fire service to match the price point. Thank you for the delicious crab curry!
