I'm a 1st timer here. I ordered 2 plates of Griot, and it was cooked well. No burnt pieces. It was served just as i requested. Great job. I'll be going back. Also the service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere was very nice.

Small but cozy, I went to a small concert/gathering there. The food was good, as well as the drink.
Parking: The parking is in the back of the building

$35 for $18 worth of food. I had high hopes for this place since they have good reviews but my service was terrible (our waitress never even came around to refill our waters and was on her phone the whole time), our food was only subpar (not worth the price by any means). I'm very understanding but we were literally the only ones in there and everything was overpriced and the service was terrible.

Wow, this place blew me away! The food was absolutely incredible, bursting with flavors that danced on my tongue. The presentation was like a work of art, and I couldn't resist taking a few foodie photos. The staff was so friendly and attentive, making me feel like a VIP throughout the entire meal.
The food was very good and fresh. The drinks was good too. I had a margarita. I'm Haitian and ordered the fried turkey and it was fried to perfection. And the plantains came out hot and cripsy. I will be back!
“JG5Star Restaurant in Hollywood on Hollywood boulevard” Wow!!!I went in nonchalant with the idea that I was going to eat and leave. Not to be discriminating or perceptive, but I know chef Georges He was working at MOCA Cafe when I was the PR. My cousins and I were hungry and in a bad mood. They wanted pizza. I said we can have pizza anytime. The hostess greeted us like regular people. The place was barely full and we didn’t know where to seat. We picked a table that would fit all of us and the plates of food we expected. The restaurant was clean and inviting.Another server came with the Menus and we ordered. A Prestige for my cousin, Passion fruit juice for me and Coke for the girls. We had conch fritters and akra as appetizers. The main course was going to be wonderful. I wanted white rice, bean sauce, stewed vegetables with meat (Diri, Sos Pwa, Legume). I was disappointed it was not in the menu. I ordered (Fritay) platter which came with fried plantain, sweet potato, (palate) akra malanga (grated fried cocoyam or yautia) and Griot (fried pork) decorated with red and green peppers and white onions. All meals came with sauce and pikliz (cabbage, carrots, scotch bonnet peppers and onions pickled in white vinegar). My cousins had grilled conch with rice and beans and fried plantain. One ordered griot, plantains with rice and beans, which she could not wait for, she was so hungry. The other had spare ribs with French fries. The restaurant was packing up by the time our food came. We caressed our drinks listening to the nonstop Caribbean music, then it was heaven. Foodies heaven that is. The pizza lovers were leaking their fingers not to let a drop go by, tasting each others foods to see whose was better. You could hear a pin drop, they were focused on the food. My griot was fresh, my patate, plantains and akra were the same. Oh! I was in Heaven. I poured the pikliz on the platter and its as if the acid brought the griot to life. Delicious! I was too full I couldn’t finish my drink. To go I ordered the Fish platter in sauce with all the fixings: banane pese, akra, patate and legumes. It will take time to eat the fish while I savor every morsel at home. A large container came all wrapped up as if no one was to see what is in it.Though I had no space for anything else, I was not offered any dessert. I don’teven remember if there were some on the menu. When we asked for the check it was because the time had gone by, they close at ten when there is no event. With the music playing we should have been dancing all night long. The food was great fresh not too spicy unless you like it that way. If your palate is as sophisticated as mine you’ve gone to the right place. There are so many plates to choose from: Blackened salmon, Fish Tacos, Fried Pork wrap to Lobster tails and Mahi Mahi burgers, Chef Georges is at your service. Amazing!I went there to support a friend, good or bad our stomachs would be full and we would be happy. Boy were we happy everyone was content. It was good that my little cousins were introduced to Haitian food the right way. Foodies take notice when the palate is joyful and the pocket is moderate.Haitian food in Florida? Make time to try “JG5Star Restaurant & Bar” take your time to eat as if it were your last meal. You won’t regret it. It is 5 star!!!
