My first time, the place was clean and beautiful. Thefood was questionable, the steak was gummy, the quantity was limited. I had to ask for coffee 3 times, I finally got it after I finished my meal. The server was busy cleaning rables and did not answer our petitions on time or delivered what we asked. I never received my coconut custard I ordered. Honestly she was completely disoriented. I went to the coffe area and I could not see the pastries because they were behind a window, difficult to see clearly. They should figure out a way to make them more visible. Overall, I may return just to give it another oportunity, but not anxious to do that anytime soon.

Food wasn’t good at all and I was very surprised. The staff was very nice but it’s not what it used to be to be.

I didn't expect a $14.95 breakfast buffet. I didn't expect attentive refills of my cafe con leche. I didn't expect over easy fried eggs as well as scrambled options.
I've been a fan of LaCarreta for years. I'd always look forward to grabbing a pollo imperial at the Miami airport.
They still do a good job.

For years, La Carrera has been the standard by which other Cuban restaurants are measured. Good food at a cheap price. And all of their locations had been able to maintain that standard. But recently, they have started to show signs that they are faltering. Smaller portions and higher prices. Sadly, on this occasion, their Ajiaco tasted terrible. We called to complain and the charge was removed, so their service is still great. But alas, I feel that they might have peaked and might be on a slow decent. A sign of the times, indeed.

As my local La Carreta l've come to this specific location multiple times in the past years. Service is always hit or miss depending on the time of the day or if you got to the cafeteria or the main salon.
The fried empanadas are always fresh and the coffee always hit the spot.
Chicken soup is one of my favorites and always an option specially when I'm sick.
The Cuban and media noche sandwiches are often pretty good as well.
I'm not a huge fan of the main dishes but the fried chicken chunks with Moro is usually a safe bet.
Overall is a good option for breakfast or lunch.

What happened to the old good old fashion good service of this place ? For 2 decades I've have been going there , every restaurant has its ups & downs but when you go have lunch & there are 5 tables being served & 4 waiters , the yuca fries should get to your table in 3 minutes ! Your drink in 30 seconds and your Tortilla w white rice and avocado salad in 7,10 minutes ...we waited 5 minutes for the drinks , 25 minutes for the food !!!!! In a restaurant with 5 tables being served by 4 waiters !!!!! If this is not total & complete incompetence, what is ? And this is the reason I avoid most Latin restaurants....you want service, good solid consistent food ? LATIN AMERICAN grill ppines & Miami lakes!

Review (Online Delivery):
I received the Yuca croquettes without salsa, and the carne asada was overly salty. It also didn’t include the chicharrón as expected. Quite disappointed—what’s been happening lately?

Having worked 40 years in Miami, I grew very fond of Cuban food. Of all the ethnic restaurants I frequent, this stands out among the most authentic. The coffee, toast, sausage, eggs, potatoes, and grits are always perfect for breakfast. This restaurant is consistent. My latin wife has expressed her request for a quieter venue as the decibel level is usually quite high. Over the years, I probably have eaten at the Wheel as we call it over 100 times and will continue to go.

Paid for my meal, but it posted as a Gas Station (Marathon). Check your employees. They are stealing from you!
