Great pizza, best for miles. Wife and I are happy for this little spot to be available in downtown.

I used to look forward to going here during my trips to Hollywood but that's now over. My recent trip was negative all around. To start off I handed the kid a $20 for my slice of cheese and I guess since it was 11pm he figured everyone is drunk so he attempted to steal the change instead of giving me back $15. The kid played stupid even though he's too stupid to know what sober people look like at 11pm.Next the price. I get that inflation is hit many aspects of life but I'm fairly certain that in the areas of cheese and flour it has not.$5 for a slice of the worlds thinnest, soggiest and orangeist pizza is offensive. It tasted decent but I'm thinking that was only because I was hungry at the time.I'd advise people to stay away from this place. It's more of a tourist trap now than what it used to be, the neighborhood pizza place. In the business of pizza, greed is not good!

There was a big change at Mauro's, and definitely not for the better. I had ordered pizza to go sit outside and the food was okay, but the service was not. I requested to go to the bathroom, but this older guy had told me in a rude tone that there was not a bathroom. I used to go to this pizza joint almost everyday a while back and I used the bathroom often, and now I'm told there's no such thing anymore. Overall, I will not be returning back.

Pizza is paper thin. No actual lunch special and they charge a $1 for Parmesan cheese. Hilarious how this place is still opened.

Love the pizza. Wish there was somewhere inside to sit, but hey, outside had amazing weather for it.
This place use to be the go late night spot.... But as you can see it's not the same anymore. Missing 25% of my slice.

My son and I stopped in for a quick bite during one of the downtown car shows and I'm telling you now - They make al some really great pizza! This is pretty authentic New York style pizza and the slices were huge. You can fold it (as I prefer to) or even eat it with a fork. The crust is thin & crispy and flaked when I folded it. The sauce to cheese ratio was almost perfect. You may initially pause at the price, but as you can see in my photo - they're worth it! We probably waited around 8-10 minutes, but there were a number of orders ahead of ours and they do a great job getting the orders out the door. *Edit - Were just back from a week in Hollywood and made 2 stops at Mauro's for their huge slices of delicious pizza! The wait times were no longer than 3 minutes and the price is definitely reasonable. The interior of the restaurant now has new signage which is much easier to read. However, we miss the classic menu boards! Should you find yourself in Downton Hollywood and craving some great pizza, order up some crispy, cheesy pizza from Mauro's.
