McGowan's Oceanside Tiki Bar & Restaurant

Would give zero stars if i could. The owner bar tender is the worst person I've ever met. I had ordered three drinks earlier in the day. I went back for a glass of water for my handicapped father, the owner says were not a charity. Water costs $2, I told him i has ordered drinks earlier in the day. He didn't care slammed the water down and said are you gonna pay $2 or not. I didn't pay outta principle went and bought a bottle from the store.

Stopped in for Ceviche and Mojito. Ceviche was not good, shrimp cocktail tossed in but not good was not Ceviche. Mojitos were awful no mint not sure what they poured into it that was green. Told bartender/owner? That would pay for Ceviche but the mojitos were awful and could not drink them. Bartender/owner told us to just leave, I again offered to pay for ceviche and old lady came out the back and started saying we could afford to pay and we were scamming them. Lol, crazy experience but after reading some of the reviews I now understand it wasn’t just our experience. I should have known when they put napkins down and they were dirty that this was going to go south.

The owner doesn't issue receipts and charges whatever he feels like. They rip you off.

How is this place still in business? Must be something shady. Food was not fresh and even spoiled. Drinks were awful. Owner was rude the lady was nicer.

Great place on the boardwalk. Food was fantastic. Bartender was super friendly. We got ceviche & a whole snapper. Highly recommend stopping here especially if you like ceviche!

This was AWFUL. The guy at the bar is the worst. He has the worst attitude and will charge you for things you didn’t order so watch out.

Extremely rude service, waiter denied a cup of water to my son and was mean to him.
The only thing he needed to do was say that the water was $2…and not be rude.

Yes the drinks may be $$, but the pours and the drinks are 100% worth it. This man is the definition of authenticity, hospitality, and a classic experience we all wish for when coming to a bar. Can’t wait to come visit Hollywood again just to stop back here!

Lovely view, and nice seaside bar, BUT the worst mojito ever in my experience. It’s unfortunate that the management seems unwilling or incapable of providing even an average tasting mojito for the solid gold price of $16.00. Invest in some mint and cheap mojito mix at Food Lion and make your unwitting customers satisfied. An outrage at any price. $69 for four drinks was beyond belief.

There are no prices on the drinks menu so be prepared. ($16 for a cocktail.) The high prices reflect the location right on the boardwalk and the tiki hut vibe is cute.

Probably stay away from the mojitos if you’ve had one before. Their recipe needs some work, like real mint would be nice.

I come here for the ocean view, it’s fantastic. The breeze is fantastic. I had 2 corona’a feeling good.
