Consider this a 1-star review. I gave one star extra for the old sushi chef they terminated because his sushi was, according to the owner, “too generic” although his sushi absolutely is better looking and tasting than the owner’s sushi. The owner states they want to focus on presentation with their plating, which is understandable although a spicy tuna roll order is just 8 rolls on a plate with wasabi and ginger, no presentation to it at all. The old sushi chef would make spicy tuna correctly, and the plate would be prettier than the one i received this visit. During this visit, my spicy tuna had no spice to it at all. I had to get a side of spicy mayo for the rolls because it wasn’t mixed into the raw tuna like it was supposed to be. (Maybe the owner forgot the spicy part of the spicy tuna because he was too focused on micro greens)The “culinary team” you might read about in these replies is just the owner in the back by himself taking forever to roll sushi. I decided to leave a review today because I ate there with my family, and learned from the server (who was doing his best all by himself) that their tempura shrimp (only tempura on the menu now) comes frozen and prebreaded, (yuck, frozen seafood) and they no longer have tempura batter on site to fry the rolls… Silly for a sushi restaurant to not have tempura batter if you ask me. They had a counter setup several months ago, where the chef would make the sushi in front of you, and those rolls were always fast, fresh, and delicious.Friday night and 2 people working, plus the changes in the recent months, leads me to believe this place might be on its way out already... It seems the owner is too focused on making 30 minute long pretty plates to worry about what really matters in a successful restaurant, delicious food, and premier, fast service. The old sushi chef was super friendly and great to chat with while he quickly made everyone their delicious rolls.I’d love to get the contact info for the old sushi chef or the location he moved to so I can take my business there!

The place looks great, very clean and well decorated! Their staff are amazing very friendly and helpful! Food was excellent and delicious! Their sushi is well built and the flavors are very, very good! I felt in love with this little gem of sushi here in sterling Rd. Thank goodness is very close to home and I will definitely comeback over and over again!! Kudos to the chef, keep up the great job!Parking: Located inside a shopping mall giving access to plenty parking spaces!Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair access is not a problem here!

I would usually order online but I like to go in and see the sushi chef right up front and they just updated the interior so I was surprised when I went in and saw the new decoration. What a great experience! The food here is excellent. Ken, the owner, was an incredible host. The restaurant has some incredible craft sake. The Soto was a perfect complement to everything we ordered. We tried a bit of everything. We enjoyed the sky tower, goyza, and the crispy fried rice appetizers. We learned that the fish is ordered fresh, and it tasted fresh as well. We ordered a few rolls. The Okeechobee roll was our favorite with the perfect combination of spicy and sweet. We finished with a layered chocolate mousse. We left full and excited that we found a new spot close to home. Ask about the specials as the fish is brought in fresh and often.
