We tried this restaurant 3 years ago and it was pretty good. Moving from Clearwater, I was really used to fresh seafood and diverse menus.
We decided the ratings looked pretty good so we tried it again.
My friend got a fish sandwich, and I got shrimp tacos. She said she'd preferred perch but the fish((flounder?) was pretty good. I loved the shrimp tacos and the seasoning was just about perfect. Just a little spicy. Fabulous. Hushpuppies were 5 ⭐ and the sauce that came with our coconut shrimp appetizer was delicious. Service was 5 ⭐ from a young man who's name I can't remember, sorry. If one thing needed improvement it would be the coleslaw. Not much glavor. Not enough dressing. Didn't eat it, but I'll definitely be back to try the seafood platter, the senior menu is very reasonable.

We always have enjoyed this restaurant. …Til tonight.
Flounder was cold.
Baked potato cold.
Soup cold.
Green beans cold.
Sent fish back to be warmed n still came out barely (!) warm.
Fried oysters n hush puppies warm n tasty.
Two waitresses seemed to be holding down the fort. So service quite slow! There were only about 8-9 tables though.

We just found this restaurant and so glad we gave it a try! It’s a comfortable space with a home like feel. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous which made me happy. During the week days they offer a couple of all you can eat options on the menu. Overall, if you enjoy seafood, Cedar River is a great choice and is now our favorite. 🤩

We were the only ones in the establishment. Our food was amazing. It was enough for the both of us and still have leftovers. Our waitress on the other hand was very absent.

As expected, casual dining, large portions (plenty to take home) salmon was very good, corn nuggets similar to Penna “fritters” dry god too, excellent service (thank you Emily). No problems, a definite do-over. Great value!

They had a lot of flounder on the plate for your money. Highly recommend it. The only negative I have is that the bathrooms need to be updated.

Worst waitress ever, worst service ever, food served ice cold & wrong sides. When handed dinner the bottom of plate was so greasey that it was refused. Don't go there even if you're starving!!

we ordered the fried calamari--way overcooked, tried again....way overcooked. Told it was the last of the calamari...sorry...only 1 person cooking. canceled the rest of the food order. Had the mussels, could only eat a few as most had broken shells. Unacceptable to be served what was likely dead ones.Definite health hazard.Took way to long to deliver what was ordered. Sorry, we won't be back.

Okay, Let’s Talk Food!

If you’re in the mood for seafood that hits all the right notes, look no further than Cedar River Seafood! I tried the fried flounder platter, and let me tell you—it’s pure magic. Perfectly crispy and golden on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside. Every bite was a winner!

They don’t mess around with portions here. Order a platter or meal, and you’ll get a hearty serving of fish along with two sides of your choice. It’s southern comfort food done right, so come with an appetite!

And here’s a fun twist: drinks come in a super-sized cup—a true southern staple. Just make sure your bladder is ready for the challenge!

Dining with kids? No problem. Their kids’ menu makes it super easy for families to enjoy a relaxed and satisfying meal.

Now, fair warning—this isn’t the spot for dim lights, soft music, or romantic vibes. But if you’re here to eat, and I mean really eat, this place delivers.

For no-frills, down-home southern seafood, Cedar River Seafood is a must-visit. Don’t sleep on this gem—you’ll thank me later!

The waitress was charming, efficient & helpful. We got a platter to share. The good stuff, the fried fish & shrimp were delicious. The baked potato & French fries were undercooked. Not good. The fried calamari was terrible! Most of the batter had fallen off or else wasn't there to begin with. The rings looked like squishy white rubber bands. To be honest the only reason we went there was because my MIL likes it.
