I knew this would be a great place to take some friends who had never been to Texas before and wanted to experience non-chain Tex-Mex. The neighborhood, building, decor, staff and quality of food was perfect. However, the mirachi band is too much. Way too loud. It doesn't need to be so loud. It was if the horns had to prove they could play loudly. I get it, when a mirachi band is playing you don't have conversation, but wow, it doesn't have to be so overwhelming....
El Ranchito has very good Mexican food. Fresh ingredients and the menu has a lot of options. Tacos are delicious because they grill the soft tortilla. Fajitas are tasty with a lot of meat and vegetables. Great service.
We always have a good experience all across the board but this time the server quit coming so we had to flag one down and that waiter did take care of us the rest of our stay. The noise level was loud we could hardly hear other talk as there was a private party in one of the room and they had their own live music and karaoke. The noise level made the experience un comfortable.
