Very home like feel and the staff was friendly. The food was unbelievable some of the best chicken Parmesan I’ve ever had
We had never been to the Heidi’s in Inverness but now that it’s in a new location we are closer and decided to give it a try. The service was ok…had a couple instances where my drink was completely empty for 5 minutes at a time but the staff was pleasant. The food was reasonably priced so it won’t break the bank. I read a lot of the recent reviews and they are similar to my experience. I ordered a meatball sub. It’s the only meatball sub I’ve ever questioned if I wanted to eat all of it because of the taste. It was very bland, not good at all. My wife ordered the chicken parm and it was flavorless as well and she couldn’t eat more than half of it due to lack of taste. They did provide garlic bread which was also not good. It’s as if everything they served was missing ingredients because I can’t imagine a restaurant intentionally serving food this bland.I will likely give it another try sometime in the future and possibly the kinks will be worked out with this new location. If the owner/managers read this you should do something about this soon. You’ve been around for a long time and I’d hate to see a beloved hometown restaurant go under because of a bad cook or a change in recipe for cost savings. I feel their prices are reasonable enough that they’d still be very competitive if they raised prices 10% but served tasty food.
The dinner salads were tiny. The entrees were terrible. My linguine and garlic shrimp were swimming in bland oil with jarred minced garlic. One bite was enough! My husband had the baked Ziti the sauce was pretty plain and the pasta was small and under cooked.
First of all I’m a fan of Heidi’s. I have always have been. I’m not a Italian Yankee, but I think the food is great. Since it moved to Hernando. I heard 1 of the cooks bought it and moved it. The homemade soups are still delicious and the chicken parmigiana is my favorite. I don’t need an Italian telling me what’s wrong with it bc I don’t care. It’s delicious and with 1 entree I can get at least 2 meals out of it. The amount u get is quite large. Someone complained their prices went up on a review. Wake up sir, so have everybody else’s. Have u been to the grocery store lately? I think it’s priced reasonable, great food, large quantities and the service is amazing compared to what is was in Inverness. They never had enough servers and they worked their servers to death. Only 2 for the whole restaurant. Now it’s so much better. The bread has changed. But I’ll take less bread over great service any day. Heidi’s is a must to check out in Hernando.
This is definitely not like the old Heidi's. We went with friends tonight and we all got salads, my friends had antipasto salads and my husband and I ordered grilled chicken Caesar salads. Not a difficult order...our friends got their salads and we waited and waited. We stopped the hostess to have her inquire about our salads and we waited again. Our friends were about finished with their salads when ours finally appeared. Though there was plenty of chicken on our salads the lettuce was warm and wilted, the bowls were warm. Though we told them everything was unsatisfactory no attempt was made to make it right. Just " sorry, we'll let the kitchen know". I wish I had taken a picture. We won't be back.
Somewhere on here you will see a great review for Heidi's, been there many, many times. Today visited new place of business and doubtful if we will ever return. Heidi's now goes into my top 3 worst meals we have ever been served in a restaurant. No need to go into specifics because nothing about the meal was better than horrible. Dont know what's up with them, but they will not be in business soon if changes aren't made.
I believe in supporting local business but if the owner doesn't treat there employees right I would never go here .this employees that they text nasty test to did double shift a couple of times plus training people for the bar and severing people on top of it . Her daughter also worked there but after this people treated her mom with so much disrespect she didn't want to go back there . Which out for this people just saying. They don't deserve your business when they treat there employees very badly.
This place has gone DOWN since they moved ! They are only taking cash (supposedly someone stole their credit card machine ). They only give you a handwritten receipt ( it does not have tax paid or anything)! The wings were absolutely disgusting! Took one bite and spit it out! Also before they offered garlic bread ... no garlic bread with pasta dinner! We had to call because we went there and they were closed ! No hours posted on the door ! We called and asked for their hours ... after calling about ten times !They do not answer their phones and when they do ... Be Prepared to hold on the phone and hung up on!UPDATE! They told us that they would refund us. We only took ONE bite and they only gave us “some” of the money back! And yes we returned all of their LOUSY OLD food! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ! The “new owner” is very rude! I wonder why they have been closing early? The word is out! Bad business!
I do not recommend Heidi’s. Their food and customer service was much better at the old location in Inverness. Their hours are not consistent and they very rarely answer their phones so that you can place an order. Recently, was not able to pay by using a debit or credit card because of a story that they provided about credit card machine being stolen or something of that nature. I was not given a detailed receipt to show the total amount paid including taxes, which will be reported to the appropriate government agency. This is ridiculous and unacceptable. The chicken wings and fries were nasty and tasted spoiled. They only gave us a $13.00 refund for 12 wings and a half of a basket of fries…which is significantly less than what we actually paid. Do yourself a favor and AVOID Heidi’s at all cost!!!!!!!
Just tried Heidi's new location. So far not a fan. The location is great the building is bigger. Only down fall is, i got food poisoning the next day. I had the lasagna with salad with ranch dressing. My friend also had lasagna with salad but she had Italian dressing but she's fine. So I don't know if there was something wrong with my lasagna or with the ranch dressing, i know they make there own ranch dressing so i dont know if there trying something new with it but so far not a fan.

So I have been going to Heidis for years when it was in Inverness. They recently moved to Hernando to a nicer place and I had High Hopes. Just went to their new place and they stopped us at the door and said sorry we're closing we don't have staff. So never again and off to Culver's we go at least they know how to manage a restaurant
sauce was like it came from a can and no spices added. chicken parm was the worst I've ever had. the breading didn't stick and chicken should have been Butterflied or pounded. it was not a cutlet it was a piece of chicken. the lasagna was the consistency of a frozen dinner. what a shame I will never go back ?
Service was good food not so good. Party of four with 2 teens. Spaghetti? quartered! small dish to boot. Who cuts spaghetti into quarters? From what I was told you received a plate of spaghetti along with 2 decent pieces of pounded out chicken parmesan totally disappointed. I contacted my folks who have been here numerous times in the past about my experience they were shocked to hear about my experience. Now keep in mind they had dinner here prior to the move. Did something change?
I have been a huge fan of Heidi’s for the last 8 years (since we moved here). We went to their new location today. The building is nicer and the menu looked the same. However, this was our first disappointment at Heidi’s. The bread was different…very soft (almost wet) and you get one piece with a meal. They used to bring out a mini loaf that was nicely toasted. Now, an extra piece is an additional.75. The chicken parmigiana was always exceptional…best I ever ate. Today, was not the case. The red sauce lacked flavor and seemed watered down. They have only been in their new location with new ownership for about a month. We will try again in a month or two. If it is the same, we will be looking for a new Italian restaurant. I hope they get it figured out, because we really loved the old Heidi’s.
My baked ziti was as good as usual. However, no garlic bread with the meal. Instead they serve you awful "garlic knots."These are frozen doughy and don't have a hint of garlic. We had to order the garlic bread. They were "out" of clams for my husband's favorite linguini with white clam sauce. We will probably try it again, though. Hope they can get things back to where it was with the last owner.
