Came here for our anniversary. When I say 5 stars. I mean 5 stars 1000%. Hands down the best fish weve ever had in our life. And weve eaten alot of gourmet fish prepared at restaurants and at home. When I say the fish is perfectly seasoned/ prepared, and complimented, im not exaggerating. Nothing short of out of this world! Dessert was just as good!

We visit year after year and always amazing! They are able to accommodate hook and cook of huge proportions. We brought 14 lobster and 1 large grouper and it took about 20 mins for the kitchen to prepare it all different ways. I would recommend this place to everyone!

Unfortunately I was not able to try Chef Michael’s. Don’t try an early walk in around 5-6 pm . Although I would have understood a time limit on a table, I was not able to visit bc the host informed me they didn’t have room for anyone til 9:30. So either make it a destination or write it off your list. Probably the latter due to how the message was delivered to me this evening.

The Service was awesome, the food not so much. We started with the shrimp and calamari fritters. Outside was way over cooked and the inside was borderline raw. The entrées, we got shrimp and scallop pasta and then they’re special of hogfish, shrimp and scallops. Everything we got was way undercooked. It was almost like they were trying to push food out quickly by searing the outside and not allowing the inside to cook. Everything was raw. the service was excellent, but that doesn’t make up for the inabilities of the chef to accurately produce a decent meal for the price, we will not be returning the next time we’re in town.

Overall the best restaurant in the Islamorada area. While the menu offered a great variety of entree’s, appetizers and hard to find fish selections, the specials were off the chart. Hogfish topped with a colossal crabcake was exceptional. The wait staff was incredible. Our server, Eric, payed close attention to us without being on top of us. Team CM, thank you for the best meal in the Keys!!!!

We have been dining at Chef Michael’s on our anniversary for years and it’s always a wonderful experience. This time we were seated in what used to be their porch area (it is enclosed). I personally prefer sitting in the bar area and will ask for that next time. Our server, Jennifer, came to the table and told us about all the specials. We split a wedge salad - iceberg lettuce, heirloom tomatoes and candied bacon - it was delicious. I always order Hogfish if it is available which is was - amazing. My husband ordered Lamb Lollipops with Pistachio Pesto which he said was delicious but it was an entire rack of lamb and he could not eat it all (this would be a great dish to split). This is an expensive restaurant (dinner for two with a bottle of wine will be about $300.00) but the food is fresh, creative and delicious.
We sat at the bar, food was fabulous ! Lacey the bartender was friendly and very knowledgeable , friendly crowd. Enjoyed our night and we will be back !
