Chef Michael’s came highly recommended, and it absolutely delivered. The conch and shrimp fritters were perfectly crisp and packed with flavor, and the lionfish appetizer was amazing—fresh, light, and beautifully done. The stuffed shrimp easily made my top list. We dine here every time we come to Islamorada but quite frankly the restaurant has gotten popular and as a result it has lost some of its charm. The food and service are fine but charging $75 for a broiled Florida lobster is outrageous. There are a dozen other restaurants around with the same size for half the price. Also, marking up wine bottle 2 1/2 its cost is also piggy. I will pass Chef Michael’s on my next trip to Islamorada.
Shelly was great resource for all the options on the menu and described them all eloquently. The meals were all terrific with generous portions. Then came the desserts.... So glad they provide doggy bags! Chef Michael's is certainly on my revisit list.
