AMAZING! thatched covered small dining area, giant screens open to surrounding beach, cool breezes softly blowing palm trees. Well lit along sandy paths heading back to our car. Our server Rick was wonderful, nice wine menu. Excellent salads we also shared the whole yellowtail snapper with coleslaw and citrus rice. Key lime pie to die for! Supurb dining experience... we will be back!
Atmosphere is lovely, we ate several meals. There, breakfast was wonderful. Unfortunately, dinner was more mixed, about half of what we have was very good and the other half quite bad. The manager was very understanding and took them off the bill but it was unfortunate. Service was OK. The setting is really lovely and hopefully the food and service will catch up.
We sat at the bar overlooking the ocean Their green melon gazpacho soup was refreshing. And amazing!! Best chicken wings! Crab stuffed lobster, garlic shrimp, edamame dumplings, the only knock I had was I ordered the short rib. Lacked some depth and flavor but everything was great! Spicy Paloma was my drink of the night:)
Our dinner was good, not great. We felt it was pricey for what we got. The food was not hot enough. The service was good. The atmosphere was spectacular.
Don't go by the pictures you see on website for food. The dinner menu had no value for selections available. Wouldn't recommend
Food was delicious and the restaurant was right on the water so you can't beat the atmosphere
The service was great and the food was very good. I ordered the pasta with clams, which was good, but it was swimming in oil. The fish of the day (wahoo) was very good. Some sort of bread service would have been nice, considering the prices of the entrees. We appreciated the complimentary Birthday cake for dessert.
We reserved a table at Drift because it looked like a beautiful waterfront restaurant (online) and because we were staying at the Islander Resort. The restaurant did not disappoint. The view was even better than we expected. It is a very romantic and relaxing setting. We really enjoyed being so close to the ocean. We had the fresh catch and the whole fish of the day. Both were delicious and very fresh. The service was excellent and we didn't feel rushed. We liked Drift so much that we had dinner there two evenings and we look forward to dining there again on our next visit to Islamorada.
My husband and I had a truly delightful dinner at the Drift-Islander Resort. From the moment we sat down, we felt well taken care of — especially by our wonderful server, Renee, who was not only attentive but also very mindful of my gluten allergy. She made sure our starters, a delicious eggplant dip and roasted mashed cauliflower, were served with fresh vegetables instead of the usual pita bread, which I really appreciated. For the main course, my husband ordered the lamb chops with vegetables, which he thoroughly enjoyed, while I had the catch of the day — a perfectly cooked black grouper served with silky potato purée and crisp-tender broccolini. Every bite was flavorful and satisfying. I also tried two cocktails, both of which were absolutely delicious, and my husband ordered a coconut old-fashioned that he couldn't stop raving about — a creative and tropical twist on a classic.
The place us fabulous. Tall tiki hut very airy with view of the water. Very comfortable seats. Food delicious. Wife had the lobster tail special and I had the grouper daily catch. Fresh and flaky fish. Nice glass of pinot noir. The chocolate cake decadent. Main issue is the food including the dessert took a long time to come out. Don't know if not enough cooks or too far away.

Drift is on the Islander Hotel property. I was directed to park and told to take a short walk towards the beach and the path would lead to the restaurant. I did indeed get sand in my shoes and had the thought that maybe I was going to end up at another beach dive bar but upon approaching the restaurant all of my misgivings subsided. The seating is outdoors under an intricately thatched roof with woven basket-like hanging chandeliers and ceiling fans, picture a Restoration Hardware photo shoot. The tables are spaced with enough separation for privacy and great views of the tropical oasis and Atlantic Ocean. Even though there are beach goers moving along the property the restaurant has ceiling to floor sunshade screens that obscure activity without diminishing the view. I was greeted and seated by a pleasant hostess and my drink order taken in a timely manner. I started with a Greek salad that had ample preportions of all the things you really want more of in a Greek salad. The Main course was steak and delivered by the Executive Chef, who was really interested in my thoughts about the food, which by the way, I thought was scrumptious. I would definitely consider this restaurant to be on the upper scale of what Islamorada has to offer and yet relaxed enough to not have to dress formal for dinner.
Amazing experience at Drift. Our server was phenomenal! It was our first night here and needless to say our 2-year old was extremely exhausted and acting cranky at dinner. It did not phase our server and she was so patient and kind with him and us. She made amazing recommendations and we had the best meal! Tuna crudo, lamp chops, and spaghetti with clams. All food had amazing flavor and service was top notch!
This place is magic. We loved our server Kassie. Belle was the sweetest too. Good amazing. Dreamy ambiance!
We had a lovely time! Excellent food, delish beverages, helpful suggestions and really yummy dessert.
