My wife and I went to the Hungry Tarpon for breakfast early on a Monday morning in April 2024. The restaurant was empty, so we got a waterfront table. The place is funky, with a dive-bar feel, and we thought we would give it a shot. After sitting at our table for a few moments, I felt small tickles on my legs and discovered I was getting bitten by the smallest of mosquitos... I was wearing shorts. We asked our server for some spray repellant which he promptly gave us, and we sprayed our legs. The food was good as well as the service and we finished our breakfast. Later that day and for the next 8 days, I have never experienced such irritation from over 100 No-see-um (Google it) mosquito bites on both by legs and forearms; my wife was bit a few times as well on her legs. The repellant did not work against these pests. I am an insect magnet, and they had a feast. I have been a mess since that morning with the bites getting worse day by day and I have lost sleep; I wrote this at 2:00 am on the 8th day, and I'm seeing a dermatologist tomorrow. Had I known of the mosquitos, I would have gotten up and left; no atmosphere, charm, food, or service was worth the misery I experienced. Beware of waterfront restaurants with shallow standing water here in Florida and come prepared if insects like to have YOU for breakfast.

Tourist trap. Convenient for a bite to eat, but don’t expect very good preparation.

Terrible service, disgusting smell, and inconsiderate staff. My pregnant wife and 10 month old son came here looking for a nice place to get dinner. Once the host finally got around to seating us, she put us directly in the sun, right next to the water, despite numerous tables in the shade with misters. We waiting for 10 whole minutes without being seen by anyone, my wife and son progressively getting more irritated and hot. My wife and I were also nauseated by the terrible smell emanating from the water. We decided to leave without being seen by anyone and had a much better dinner at Lazy Days, with a courteous staff and much better service.Kid-friendliness: They could not care less about catering to children.

I really like Robbie’s and we try to stop here each time we drive to the keys, but we haven’t tried the restaurant until this trip and so glad we did! We got there at 7pm on Saturday evening and it wasn’t busy at all. We were seated right away and our server, Isaiah, was great! The food was great, the drinks were tasty!

This is a great spot to have lunch and get the true keys experience. We come here every year while we’re in the keys. The hungry tarpon is just one part of what Robbie’s marina has to offer. Can’t think of another spot in the Florida Keys, where you can feed the tarpon and almost lose your hand. The open air restaurant overlooks the marina and you can watch the people feeding the tarpon there. The blackbirds can be a bit of a nuisance at times, but that’s part of the experience. For lunch, we split the shrimp cocktail and the blackened shrimp tacos. Who came out relatively quickly and we thought the portions were very good. The blackened shrimp tacos were excellent in flavor. The shrimp cocktail was good and the shrimp not overcooked.Nichole, our waitress did a nice job. She was an attentive and not overbearing and checked back to see if there’s anything else we needed. After lunch, we did a little shopping and then sat our butts in the chairs down by the kayak launch and watched the boats come in and out. The boat to Lignumvitae botanical Park also goes out from here. While Robbie’s has become a bit more commercial over the years we still come here because there’s plenty to do and see. It also makes for a great rest on the way to Key West.

Overpriced and poor quality food. Burgers and steak were overcooked, and extremely overpriced relative to the quality of the food. $32 for the steak in the photo. Service was ok, they don’t allow checks to be split.

We were sat in the back by the bar. No view at all. There were plenty of open tables out on the deck. The old lady Natalie sat us there. Not going to argue with grandma(should not have too). I put my dollar above the table. Chicken wings where good. Everything else needed some salt. Tarpon feeding was exciting.

Kid-friendliness: We had a great experience! We had a large group and there was only a short wait time to be seated. Our server took our order and brought everything out quickly. The food was hot and really good . Martavious was our server , he was excellent and deserves a raise ! ?

The food was decent but be careful with your waitress. Ours held the bill machine in her hand and automatically tipped herself 20% as soon as the screen came up (we had less than 4 people in our group). Normally I would have done it but this was just extremely rude and bizarre behavior. Service wasn't that great - it was slow.

The food was amazing and atmosphere was great. If you go here, the seafood is a must try. Great casual spot to sit down and eat on the water.

This place has a great vibe and great views. The food is a little lackluster. Kind of a tourist trap feel. I think most things are frozen and fried.

Ate her for dinner. We ordered calamari, lobster tail, and sea bass Oscar. I came here initially because another review said they had lobster thermidor, that is a lie. The only redeeming quality was the mashed potatoes. The rest of the meal is comparable to any seafood restaurant. The crabmeat made for an odd flavor profile with the Oscar. Without the topped crabmeat, the Oscar was quite tasty. The key lime martini was tasty but the "trailer trash bloody Mary" was weak especially for $18. It was a $6 bloody mary with extra snacks. Other than the novelty, not worth the price tag.
