Mercado Morada is a delightful outdoor oceanside dining spot, part of the Three Waters Resort in Islamorada. The huge outdoor patio overlooks the ocean, offering a very spacious, relaxing atmosphere with tables not close together, plus lounging areas and a fire pit. The staff are fantastic, friendly, and accommodating.
The menu includes a Mexican take on some classic breakfast favorites, with items like Pina Colada French Toast, avocado quesadillas, and empanadas. For other meals, the food is great and a great value, featuring $12 fully loaded burritos, chicken quesadillas with spicy mayo, fish and chips, papusa, and corn and chips dip. The alcoholic drinks, like mojitos and margaritas, are fantastic and pretty good.
Service is consistently good and attentive, though occasionally slow or laid-back. The overall vibes are great and relaxing, with no rush to leave. It is a fun spot for breakfast or a beautiful, breezy dinner, highly recommended for its great food, great value, and gorgeous setting.
