We have been meaning to stop there.Many times over the years and finally did today. I had the reuben , and it was cooked perfectly. My wife had to tuna sandwich and she locked it.

Great cafe experience. Small and quaint with great food and good coffee. Line goes out the back opposite of US1. Breakfast sandwich was flavorful and fresh ingredients. Cafe con leche was great.

A 100% must go again and again! Chef and local inspired delicious creations, amazing staples of the region, a wonderful variety or savory and sweets, atmosphere that brings it all together and a hard-working happy crew all equal exactly what any Key's adventurer, family or solo explorer could desire! And that old-town/long-time Key Lime recipe will have you stopping back for more guaranteed!!

We tried the Midway Cafe and Coffee Bar in Islamorada for breakfast on our return from Key West, and it was an okayish experience. We arrived on a Sunday morning and it was decently busy(though not completely packed).

For food, we got the veggie omelet and the breakfast burrito. The omelet was okay—your regular omelette with vegetables inside served with toast, and the breakfast burrito was too “wet”—presumably with the deluge of sauces used inside, so much so that it was quite inconvenient trying to eat it. We felt the food could use a bit more kick.

The specialty drinks—Almond Joy and Tropical Macchiato—were just your average drinks, with a somewhat steep price. In hindsight, we should’ve just gotten regular coffee.

Their menu also consists of sandwiches, salads and wraps, some of which might be worth checking out.

Seating is available both inside and outside. You order at the counter, and then a server brings your food to you when it’s ready.

Some parking is available outside, and a restroom is available in the back of the restaurant.

Overall, we kind of liked Midway Cafe, but we were expecting more for the price we paid.

Super cute hidden gem of a cafe! I stumbled upon this spot on my way home from The Keys. Funny story, I was looking for the Little Free Library which happens to be located at the cafe. But I also needed coffee for my 3 hour drive home.

Midway Cafe & Coffee Bar is open daily @ 7am-2pm. I literally caught them just in time at 1:45pm right before closing. The spot is mad cute with a whimsical vibe and lots of fun colors. They sell cute merch and food. There is plenty of seating out on the back patio and indoors. They offer food and drinks.

I got a small 12oz Almond Joy Latte: Chocolate, coconut & almond latte with whipped cream. It was good and did the job. Happy accidental cafe find.

Midway Café was an absolute standout. From the moment we walked in and stood in line, someone greeted us with a friendly smile and handed us menus — such a small thing, but it immediately set the tone.

The coffee was excellent, and the bagel sandwiches were truly out of this world. My daughter said she’ll never forget it, which says everything. Even though the place was very busy, the service was incredibly fast and attentive — three or four different staff members stopped by our table to check on us and see if we needed anything.

The atmosphere was a 10/10, and honestly, it completely changed my expectations of what a diner can be. Back home, diners don’t come close to this level of food and customer service. This place was absolutely wonderful and would be an excellent breakfast stop for anyone traveling through the area. We’ll be thinking about this meal for a long time.
