The food was so delicious and our waiter, Nicholas was amazing!!! Can't wait to go back again...
We visit Cheeca Lodge & Spa often and have always wanted to dine at Nikai Sushi but never actually made reservations...this year we made the reservations and so glad we did. Food was amazing and the service was great. Friendly and courteous staff. We will definitely be making reservations again when we visit next year.
Exceptional service from Gerry. We booked outside and it was a little windy, but still fabulous views. Endamame appetizer. Shrimp dumplings, Samurai roll, 6 piece Nigiri, and a Bento Box. All the food was fantastic and we will definitely be back
Very understaffed. Food was not good and took at least 45 minutes to get. Very disappointing and expensive.
Menu selection was extremely limited (no vegetarian entrees or sushi options), service was slow and pushy, prices were outrageous and not remotely worth the meal. We were hotel guests and will return to property but will dine offsite.
This might have been the worst experience we've ever had at a supposed “fine” dining restaurant. From booking over our reservation to terrible service it was a disaster from start to end. Honestly, the only reason this place can stay in business is the fact that they are within the resort. If this were a standalone restaurant with this level of service it would have closed ages ago. After being told our reservation was “not available because they overbooked,” I asked how long we could wait for a table to become available. She then answered “I don't know, whenever somebody leaves.” No indication of how long that might be. Just no concern from her at all. (This was before my wife came down and mentioned there was an empty, but not yet bussed table). I dreaded the “can I talk to the Manager” line but did it anyway. The manager responded by telling her to go look (why this wasn't the FIRST reaction I have no idea). After which she miraculously had a table available...it just needed to be cleaned. Once seated it took 15 minutes for anybody to ask us anything. We went ahead and ordered because it was late and we were kind of stuck at this point. We didn't get ANY food to the table until 50 minutes after our reservation time (about 40 minutes after sitting down). At this point, the waiter told us that they had run out of tuna. At a sushi restaurant. She didn't mention this the previous 30 minutes that they were getting 4 sushi rolls ready, which is still perplexing. At that point I just shrugged and said “whatever you can replace it with is fine.” I had also ordered a sake flight with our original order. It didn't come until I reminded them about it and then it came as, essentially, my dessert course. The sushi was ok, honestly. But the service is atrocious. Just mind bogglingly terrible beyond all comprehension. The manager needs to do some serious work setting better expectations for service at this level of resort.
Our table was not ready when they walked us up to the outside seating area. The service was sparse from there. Items were missed, orders not taken in full...return for water etc / non-existent. Our overall experience was less than satisfactory. Not at all what we've experienced in the past several years.
We sat outside. Gorgeous ocean views, perfect weather. The food was outstanding and service was prompt and very good. Torched avocado appetizer was excellent.
Food was killer, service was slow, ambiance was awesome. Classical musician playing some great tunes.
Gary was a wonderful server. He recommended the seared tuna that was outstanding. Really unique and delicious desserts.

Dinner was wonderful! Our waiter, Gary, was excellent and the cocktails served up by Damien, fabulous. The sushi and setting both exceeded expectations.
I’ve experienced many sushi restaurants and Nikai’s sushi ranks right up there with some some of the best. Nice selection, quality ingredients and fresh.
I don’t normally go to sushi restaurants for the ambience but the atmosphere was very pleasant and stood out.
Incredible
Food is good, the service is horrible, waiters do not pay attention, waited 40 minutes and over a hour for an appetizer.

The food was awesome, service was attentive, and the views were unreal! Also, the spicy edamame was the best I’ve ever had.
