Puerto Vallarta Mexican Bar & Grill

We had been here in the past and was great. Todays experience fell very short. Pieces of meat, supposed to be fajitas. A lot of it burnt. Complained and they were generously enough to discount $5.48, talk about insult to injury. We tried to get the waitress' attention to show her the quality of the food we received. They were so busy, she did not come around. She finally came and we showed her the food. She apologized took the plate and never came back. A while later we the got another waitress with the bill and we pointed out the issues and told her we had spoken to the other waitress about the food and she left with the bill. Nobody came back to say anything aboutvthe food or all the charred inedible bits we were served as a meal. At this point, we had been waiting and were so hungry, my husband ate the pieces of meat (not strips but rather pieces and left over chunks) including more of the burnt pieces I had not pulled off the plate. The quality overall was a disappointment. Servuce, even more disappointing. Whenever you have a customer complain AND has to separate burnt food on another plate, you need to get your floor manager/ rest. Manager/supervisor, etc. to look at it AND speak to your customer. I have been in the restaurant industry for over 30 years and have had and sold succesfull restaurants. I would never treat my patrons this way. No response, nobody addressed it. Everyone elses meal was fine and for $190, I would have hoped for some response. Would I return? No, although it might have been an off day for the cook, how they addressed the issue was poorly handled. Unfortunate.

If I could give this place a -0 I would. I saw a roach crawling across the table. When told the waitress she laughed about it and said it was normal. Do not eat here!!

Nice place, great for locals that want change of pace from fish restaurants in the keys.
Stop and have a taste for sure.

The food is good, the prices are high and the portions are tiny (minute). Used to be a great restaurant.

PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS NASTY PLACE.
The Service, Food, Waitresses & Management are completely incompetent and are unable to properly take care of a party of 4. Came to celebrate my daughter’s 8th birthday while on vacation here and that was a big mistake. So disappointed to say the least. We really never knew who our waitress was. We were literally there with them attending 3 other tables us being the 4th. There were multiple waitresses attending us but nothing was done correctly. The waitress forgot our chips and salsa after letting us know that we would be charged and we agreed anyway. When they came the chips were cold & stale, the salsa was pico de gallo. We then put in our dinner with waitress #2 & after 40 minutes portions of everyone’s food comes out but missing 1-2 things per-plate. I myself ordered a fried Snapper with Mexican rice & refried beans & the fish was cold the rice was ok but the refried beans were horrendous. My girlfriend ordered the Chicken shrimp & steak fajitas. When she received her food it had no shrimp & they never brought the tortillas or the shrimp that was supposed to be part of her meal. Her sides which were pico de
Gallo, cheese, lettuce & cold refried beans.

I cannot believe are now charging for chips and salsa! This was always complimentary and now it’s is $5 for one order. Unfortunately this is the only Mexican restaurant in the area. The food is usually disappointing. The prices are astronomical. Over $50 for two people to each have a burrito with water and no chips and salsa. I understand restaurants are struggling right now but this is unfair quality and pricing.
