As someone who has traveled to Japan and eats out a lot with Japanese born friends, I don’t usually order poke bowls but tried it here since I’m not a roll person. The salmon poke bowl was delicious. Generous amounts of buttery salmon and the rice was cooked very well. I’m a sushi rice snob. My only suggestion is that they have more aburi (torched) style selections for nigiri.

Checked out the new sushi restaurant @shimaislamorada ! Chef Junior, a local experienced restaurant European, along with Drew Tsang, brings fresh Japanese dishes to the keys, highlighting local fish. The welcoming energetic vibe the sushi bar crew (Junior and Jack) made the visit extra fun! And if sake or wine is your thing, you'll find an impressive wine list with prices ranging from casual to oh-you-so-fancy!
I highly recommend the Wahoo Crudo, Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, Island Crunch Futomaki, Smoked Grouper Sashimi 🍣
The homemade desserts looked next level delicious, too!

This place is absolutely incredible. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming. The food is a work of art and they clearly put a lot of effort and care into everything they make.
I have celiac disease and they were very knowledgeable about what I could and couldn't eat. They were so accommodating, they made many gluten free substitutions for me and nothing was lacking in flavor. So often I will go out for sushi at other places and anything gluten free is boring and pretty lame. But this place was so tasty and gorgeously presented. What an absolute treat!

We went to Shima to celebrate my husband's birthday and had an amazing dinner! From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. Our server, Liz, truly went above and beyond—she was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations were spot on, and she made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. Everything we ordered was fantastic, but our favorites were the Crispy Rice, Scallop Tiradito, Plaza 88 Roll, and the pistachio tiramisu. We’re already looking forward to coming back and will definitely ask for Liz again!

If you are wondering why to go to a sushi place in a strip mall across the street away from the water. Let me tell you: best effing sushi on the damned planet. I have been to Bermuda. St. Barts. Bahamas. Barbados. This place puts them all to shame. Staff amazing. Food unbelievable. For anyone reading this. Get here. What a gem.

My husband and I are sushi fiends from North Jersey and this sushi restaurant did not disappoint!! A bit of a different spin on sushi, kinda a Cajun twist. But absolutely delicious. We’d highly recommend the Shima roll and our sever was hilarious and great. Good job, good vibe!

Went after 7:30 on a Tuesday and it was packed! They fit us in at the bar (which by far is the best experience) . Jasmin was our server and we didn’t go wanting, my wine glass was never empty :-) The sushi rolls are to die for , especially the Shima roll. Would say everything we tried was phenomenal! Pictured is the tiramisu, very light and a great end to the meal.
