Super cool ambiance inside. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching Emilio create artistic pieces. Our server Reggie was awesome and very thorough. He recommended the Avacado Tower & Plaza 88 which were amazing. We also had seaweed salad that was some of the best we have ever had. We will definitely be back! They also made me a great blackberry lavender mocktail.

We were recommended Shima by someone who works at another restaurant in Islamorada. So happy they did! Incredible food, service and experience. Even if a dish sounds familiar the executive chef puts his own unique twist on it. We eat a lot of sushi and this one definitely ranks super high. Also, the interior design is fantastic, don’t let the outside fool you. You won’t be disappointed!

Yes it's located in one of those unassuming Florida strip malls, but the moment you cross the threshold you've arrived somewhere else. Somewhere very sexy and fun. The staff is friendly. The music is awesome. We were lucky enough to come for happy hour with half off all champagne, so we splurged on Veuve Cliquot. The spicy edamame had us tasting so we could try to replicate. I convinced my dining companion, who doesn't eat shellfish or red meat, to try the bao buns with duck. Perfect blend of flavors with very well shredded duck. All of their specialty rolls sound great. Several can be made larger for $8 more. We selected the Plaza 88 with spicy tuna, cucumber, avocado, fish and an incredible sauce. Out of this world. I wasn't ready for the fun to end, so the server offered to make me a spicy watermelon jalapeño martini. Chef's kiss. I look forward to my return whenever I'm in the Keys for dinner.

Shima is by far one of the best restaurants in the Keys. First of all the service is absolutely incredible. Every server is kind and genuine. Secondly, the food is AMAZING. I mean truly the flavors melt in your mouth. We came here together with family and ran into a friend who had brought in some fresh fish. Shima prepared the fish and we were lucky enough to be able to try some and oh. my. god. It was phenomenal. We really do love Shima and definitely recommend!
