Went here for our anniversary and sat barside, we caught the end of their happy hour and I’m just going to say we got a bang for our buck! $5 claws half priced oysters 🦪 and delicious drinks. Our bartender Justin which happens to look just like Justin Timberlake made us an espresso martini his way literally to die for, and we are definitely coming back soon.

Five-Star Birthday Celebration at Sunset Lounge!
We had an incredible evening celebrating a birthday at Sunset Lounge. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was beautiful, with the perfect sunset view setting the tone for a memorable night.

Our waitress Amanda was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. She helped make the night feel extra special with her warm personality and excellent service.

The food was absolutely delicious, and every dish was beautifully presented. The martinis were spot on—crafted perfectly and a great way to toast the occasion.

If you’re looking for a place to celebrate, unwind, or just enjoy a fantastic meal in Islamorada, Sunset Lounge is it. We’ll definitely be back!

There are multiple levels- the first floor is more of a sit down restaurant but you can also enjoy fresh seafood, drinks and other meals upstairs which has more of an apperitivo/bar atmosphere. There is parking on the street which is something to keep in mind. Food was amazing and came out fast. Great specials and a beautiful view on both floors! Excellent service.

This place is top notch. We went here twice while staying in islamorada for 4 nights, so it's kind of amazing! Every bite of each tapas dish we had was so flavorful! I will be thinking about those meals and the drinks for a long time. We had the smoked fish dip, the pot stickers, ceviche, and the tongue tantalizing Kung pao Brussel sprouts. I've never had brussels sprouts that tasted this fantastic. It was a party in my mouth. Got them both nights. Done perfectly. For drinks we had the wedding crasher, the herbalist (so wonderful) and the pineapple express was so delicious! Can't wait to go back next time we visit Islamorada!! I got a tasty piece of key lime pie to go since we filled up on the rest. SUPER HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Hands down the best restaurant experience I’ve had in Islamorada. The Sunset Lounge, located upstairs at Square Grouper, is a hidden gem with a killer happy hour from 4:20 to 7 p.m. The vibe upstairs is laid-back and fun, more of a bar scene, but the food is seriously next level.

We started with the Tuna Carpaccio—easily the best Carpaccio I’ve ever had in my life. Then came the crab legs—super fresh, probably caught right on the island. My wife had the ceviche, which was incredible, and we also shared some oysters that were perfectly fresh and briny.

A few drinks in, and we were still shocked at how fair the prices were. We spent about $137 total for everything, which is great considering the quality and the setting. There’s also a nice view of the water and boat dock area that adds to the whole vibe.

Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Islamorada—don’t miss the upstairs Sunset Lounge during happy hour.

DO NOT MISS THIS HAPPY HOUR! The Sunset lounge opens promptly at 4:20PM Wednesday-Sunday, get here early to be in line when they open. When in season the Stone crab claws are $5 each and they have a great selection of happy hour specials and oysters. James at the bar is an expert mixologist and takes the time to get to know his guests and their drink preferences, he’s also well versed in their wine selection and dinner pairings. We will be back here again and again, They absolutely knock it out of the park!!!

Love the sunset lounge! We have been coming here since the first day they opened and frequent this place at least once a week MINIMUM. Great place with great staff. All the bartenders and servers are amazing. Highly recommend for anyone 21 and up!

Wow! Completely unexpected meal of a lifetime. Food is amazing. We ordered tuna carpaccio, wedge salad, everchanging ceviche, and many cocktails. Everything was super delicious. We ordered additional tuna carpaccio it was to die for. The service was magnificent. Wait staff friendly and attentive. Used dishes were cleared instantly.
Overall, great experience. Go there, it’s the best Keys have to offer!

This is a must if you are in the Islamorada area. Above the Square Grouper restaurant there’s a bar that is one of my top five in the entire world. The menu for drinks and food is separate from the amazing restaurant downstairs. Many will come up here while waiting for dinner on first level. But the Sunset Lounge is a destination in its own right. Have been here 4 or 5 times in the past eighteen months and it never disappoints. Sushi, oysters the conch bao buns are all top notch and expertly served. Then there’s the bar. James is one of the many talented employees behind the bar and I rank him as one of the best bartenders I have come across in all of my global travels (NYC, London, Tokyo, etc). He approaches his role with pride and professionalism not often seen, especially in these parts of Florida. He is a true mixologist who makes well balanced and innovative cocktails for the patrons at Sunset Lounge. I think their mezcal negronis, tequilla espresso martinis, the Mary Jane Cooler are just top notch. The employees both upstairs and at the Square Grouper are highly motivated, attentive and full of warm personality. I can’t say enough great things about this establishment. Only downside is that its so great and well known is that you will wait for a table/ spot at the bar but its well worth the wait.

Love, love, love this place. The bartenders are great, they have cool specialty cocktails, and app’s/food choices are perfect for setting. Love the choices of oysters, and the tuna nachos were amazing. The service is crazy with plates being cleared on your last bite, and the bartenders super friendly and attentive. Great view of the marina and bay as well. Highly recommended for groups with everyone over 21 as there’s an age limit to enter the lounge.
