Very nice, the pasta i had was good
Bistro Aix was a favorite of ours for many years, but we probably have not been in 2 years. We went for one last time before they close, and it was such a disappointment. The menu is down to very few options, and was missing many of the menu mainstays (no blue cheese chips or French onion soup). And the food was mediocre at best. My steak was undercooked and not a quality cut of meat and the fries were undercooked as well, on top of appearing to be low quality frozen fries. The bar was also very slow with our orders, even though there couldn't have been more than 20 people in the restaurant. It's sad, but clearly the restaurant has run its course.
This restaurant is listed amongst some of best restaurants in my area. It is very unfortunate and misleading to include this establishment with such well respected restaurants. Although the service was great, the food was lukewarm at best. Our entrees were slightly above Chef Boyardee canned ravioli. Long story, we won't be returning to Bistro Aix.
There was hardly anyone in the restaurant and they were not making pizza because they didn't want to fire up the oven for it. They were out of two of the things we wanted to order. We have ordered the short ribs several times in the past. This time they were low quality and tough.
Came here after a long day of work. Arrived at 5:18p and the restaurant was completely empty except for one table with two people. I was sat at a table, given a menu, the hostess was friendly enough. And then, nothing. I looked around for the server, hoping to make eye contact. Saw him tending the two-person table twice, then strolling by the kitchen. I waited 10 minutes and left at 5:28p. They’re not busy AT ALL and no one could come by to at least start a drink order. I had put the menu down and away from me to show I was ready to order. I was looking forward to the Chicken Gorgonzola with a side of Brussel sprouts. But if they can’t handle more than 2 people in the entire restaurant, I don’t understand how they survive.

Bistro Aix is the best! My wife and I always have a great time here and never ever get in an argument over something stupid every single time we're here for some reason.
The menu items were not available for the Limoncello side so I ordered the seafood pasta from the Bistro X menu:
The mussels were undercooked, the marinara sauce was like it was straight from the can & tasteless, but it had a shrimp (one single shrimp). I was trying to eat around it & give it a chance but they didn't tell me that the food had a squid in it either, it's gross, gross! I almost threw up when I bit into it. ?
I thought I was crazy at first for thinking that my food tasted like pee until my daughter leaned over & asked me if my food tasted funny, then she said the same thing that it tasted like PEE! Basically: anything that wasn't made in the kitchen i.e. the sodas & wine were good, but everything else was gross...like how do you mess up fries?
Save your money, it was gross, Maggiano's is just over the bridge, go there.

"Exquisite dishes and exceptional service—Bistro AIX never fails to impress."
Horrible service. Reserved for a party of11 after 45 minutes still no drinks or food. Waiter never returned. Finally received 2 bowls of rolls and 4 of 11 drinks. It was over 2 hours to get a salad and the dinner. The guest of honor and her parents finally left after 2 hours without any dinner. Managements response. They billed me $1,000.00 without my permission. Our contract called for Filet but manager said no the owner told her we could only have chicken or pasta. Even the chicken was returned because of being undercooked. Avoid this place at all cost.
Restaurantji Recommends
It saddens me to say, the food and service has gone downhill. Service was poor - not knowing the menu, not refilling waters/drinks and checking in. Food was terrible for all three of us.
0/10 highly don’t recommend, the owner needs to wake up this place is sinking!!! Kitchen doesn’t know how to prepare food, we ordered 3 entrees and everyone got returned. Hair in food, terrible quality and they don’t wear gloves when preparing. A/C didn’t work and place was empty with a creepy vibe. Sad it seems like it has so much potential but seems like it’s being driven into the ground by the ownership/staff. When leaving, Manager said “Yeah I normally only recommend the bar here, food really isn’t good.” THE MANAGER SAID THAT, you know the one in charge? Do yourself a favor and BEWARE OF THIS PLACE

Love the outdoor seating very romantic, we had the fish special and the Duck as main course and both prepared very well. Recommended.

First, let me say that I have been enjoying the fabulous food and service at Bistro Aix for many, many years. That’s why when an out of town friend and I went to dinner this week, Bistro Aix was my immediate choice. It has always been good……until this week.
My friend had the Arancini appetizer and the NY strip for the entree. The Arancini was almost tasteless, as though some seasoning was missing. The steak was small, thin, and didn’t resemble a NY strip.
I had the calamari and it was absolutely delicious. For the entree I chose the chicken Gorgonzola. It was almost impossible to cut it was so tough and over cooked. The Panko crust was thicker than the actual chicken and the flavor was bland. Without the small amount of sauce served on top, it would not have been edible.
Maybe just a bad night but the normal excellence was less than acceptable. So sad to see a gem lose its luster.
The service was good.
The atmosphere was extremely loud, but considering they had a huge party of about 40 or so, that’s understandable.

My husband and I had reservations which I had to give them my credit card information to make. When we arrived at the restaurant on time, the doors were locked and they were closed. We are still confused as to why no one contacted us to cancel our reservation, especially since we had driven all the way from Fleming Island to have dinner.
