Thevfood was decent . The sauce was very average . I would eat here again, however, if I never ate here again.I'd be fine.

Jax playoff game was hosted .
I do not believe the staff anticipated the influx. The server appeared to be distracted or overwhelmed.

They charge extra for the things that would usually be included in the price at other crab spots. Spicy is not spicy they don’t put season/sauce UNLESS tou ask and if you do ask it’s $2 extra!!! Crabs are decent size but it’s nothing like crafty crab!!!!! Don’t come here!!!

Our server’s name was Cory. To say that the service that Cory rendered was exceptional would be an understatement. It’s sad but true; the level of professionalism that Cory displayed is rare and it was a breath of fresh air. He is truly an asset to the business and as long as he’s working at the establishment my family and I will be returning.

Service was bad.
Boyfriend and I wanted to give this place a try as its much closer than our usual place, Rocking Crab. We got there about an hour before closing, took a look over the menu, and already had some weird feelings. 18% gratuity is understandable for large parties, but they also had auto 12% on all dine in, and 5% on all Togo. Alright, we always tip anyway so fine. Next, we go to order and there are 2 sauce options. The house sauce, and cajun. I ordered the snowcrab combo with the house sauce. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp special with the Cajun. He was then told he could not get cajun as they dont put it on that combo. That didnt make any sense to us but he just went with the house sauce as we wanted to give it a fair shot. We get our food, and the crab was very yummy! I did enjoy the house sauce. However we had trouble with the shrimp. They had not had the vein removed which I know some places dont do, but the shells were very difficult to get off. it was coming off in tiny pieces, and a lot was sticking to the shrimp to the point you were tearing chunks in some areas of the shrimp because the shells were literally coming off in layers. Its not an issue we have had at any of the other boil places we have tried. The staff was very friendly and tried to fix, but it was the same issue. The manager came to talk to us and offered to take his shrimp meal off and asked if mine were alright. Unfortunately they had already closed the kitchen since we were there close to closing so there wasn't really anything else that could be done. For 2 sweet teas, and a snowcrab combo that was about 45$, plus the 12% service fee, the bill came out to just under 70$, and my boyfriend was left with nothing to eat. Unfortunately I don't think we will be back.

Used to Love This Place, But Not Anymore
The quality at The Big Crab has really fallen off. I recently ordered takeout and barely received any crab boil sauce — even though they give plenty when dining in. Yet, the price is the same.
Also, the shrimp used to be a nice size, but now they’re loading the combos with smaller shrimp. It feels like I’m paying more and getting less.
It’s frustrating that you have to dine in (and pay a pre-charged gratuity) just to get decent portions and sauce. At $35–$40+, it’s not worth the price anymore. Very disappointed. I won’t be returning unless things change.
